Jordan POV
I leaned against the doorframe and watched Josh cook.
"Need help?" I asked.
"No." He opened the oven and pulled out a cake he had baked.
"Smells good." Felix came up behind me.
"Yea it's chef Joshua." Josh smiled.
I walked up behind him and hugged him from behind.
"I love you." He said.
"Me too." Keith said while walking in with Carly and Amir behind him.
"Hey yall." I said.
"Hey Jay." Carly and Amir said at the same time. I ignored that and kissed Josh's shoulder as he continued to cook.
"Make yourselves comfortable in the living room." Felix lead them in there.
"Baby what if I told you girls were looking at me too?" I asked out the blue.
He stopped and looked at me. The look on his face was pure disgust.
"You leaving me for a female?!" He choked on his words.
"No. I just-"
"Stop Jordan. Okay?" He turned back around and continued cooking.
I bagged away from him slowly and went into the living room.
Keith was holding Felix on one couch. Amir and Carly was whispering about something on the other couch.
"So wassup?" Amir asked. I shrugged and shook my head.
"Nothing much. I'm ready to graduate." I said.
"Aren't we all." Felix said.
"Yea so I won't have to see certain faces." Keith mugged me from across the room. The tension grew greater in the small room.
"So.." Felix said trying to break the tension.
"Food ready!" Josh yelled. Everyone dashed in the living room.
We gathered around the food on the table. Chicken, mac and cheese, rolls, string beans, ham, potato salad, and a nice cake. My baby threw down.
"Let's pray." I said. They all looked at me crazy.
"Since when did you pray?" Felix asked.
"Just because I have my share of sins don't mean I don't pray to God." I frowned.
"Whatever." Keith mumbled.
"Well let's do what the girl says." Josh said. Everyone grabbed hands and bowed their heads.
"God, thank you for bringing us together another beautiful day. Bless this food we are about to receive. God bless Josh, Amir, Carly, Felix, Keith, and my parents. Lord watch over and protect my parents. Mend the broken friendships between my friends. God bless Duke, fore he doesn't know what he do." I felt like I need to say more but Josh's grip tightened on my hand.
"In Jesus name I pray, amen."
Everybody lifted their heads and looked at me. I couldn't understand the expressions on their faces. I grabbed a plate and began fixing my food.
"Yall not gone eat?" I asked. They began getting their plates also.
I guess they thought I couldn't pray.
Amir POV
"Jordan need therapy." I told Carly once we sat down in the living room. She sat across from us staring at her food in pure disgust. I know why she's looking like that. She doesn't like her food to touch. Never have. Never will.
"If you don't eat that food." Felix told her.
"It's touching." She whined like a big baby.
"Why you say she need therapy?" Carly whispered to me.
"No whispering." Keith bust us out.
"I'm talking to my friend." Carly rolled her eyes.
"Let them whisper." Jordan laughed.
"Was I talking to you?!" Keith snapped.
"Chill bru.." Josh came to Jordan's defense.
"Yea bru. You ain't got to talk to her like that!" I said. Keith looked from me to Josh.
"So Yall gone let a thot that fuck with BOTH of Yall come between our friendship?" He asked in disbelief.
"Bru just chill." I told him.
"I'm gone fuck him up." Carly mumbled.
"Why Yall acting like this?" Felix asked.
"Acting like what?!" We all yelled at the same time.
"Like that!" She snapped.
"I should have stayed home." Keith placed his plate on the coffee table and headed towards the door.
"Don't go." Felix begged.
"Don't beg no nigga to stay." Carly chimed in.
"Catch me at the crib." Keith said before slamming the door.
"He a straight bitch." Jordan shook her head and leaned back in her seat.
