*There is a picture of Carly*
Keith POV
I sat at the kitchen table staring at the lady across from me. Those brown eyes pierced through me like a million knives.
"I should explain." Her voice spoke out. I looked away because if I didn't I probably would face 25 to life for the murder of my mom.
"You thought I was better off without you? I woke up one morning and you were gone! No letter, no money!" I said with rage.
I felt a soft touch on my hand and I suddenly felt calm. Felix was caressing my hand to sooth me.
I still got a bone to pick with her step dad so ain't nobody safe!
"I love you Keith. I love you and Austin both! But you wouldn't understand my reason if you can't even forgive me!" A tear fell from her eyes.
"I loved you. I never hurt you. So why'd you do it to me?" I said calmly. She took a deep breath and began explaining.
"There is this notorious couple, the Collins. I owed them money but was short. They threatened me so I had to run." She panicked.
Felix POV
My body stiffened and a cold sweat rushed to my body instantly.
Mr. and Mrs. Collins are out for Keith's mom!
"Who the hell are they?!" Keith snapped.
"I got to go." I stood up but Keith grabbed my wrist aggressively.
"Let your foster dad know!" He growled and threw my wrist down. I actually got scared. That side of Keith scares me.
I kissed Austin and ran out the apartment. I hopped in my car and called Jordan.
"Hello?" She answered.
"Where are you?" I asked.
"My parents abandoned me at Apple Bees. Do you mind picking me up?" She asked.
"I'm on it." I said then hung up.
I dashed through traffic to get my sister. When I got there she was standing on the curb with a angry look.
"Who spit in your salad?" I asked once she got in.
"My parents are so!! Ugh!!" She screamed.
"Calm down! That's what I want to talk to you about." I said.
"Screw them!" She snapped.
"They scheming on Keith's mom and he's not happy about it. He doesn't knows they're your parents yet." I said. She sighed loudly.
"Poor Keith." She mumbled.
"Yea so please don't do anything stupid." I warned her. She looked at me with a blank look and then she slightly frowned.
"What you mean?! If Keith pop off with my parents I have no choice but to jump off too!" She snapped.
"Please Jay! I don't want two of my best friends fighting." I begged.
"Aite. Just tell Keith not to jump in it. Let my parents do their job." The stubborn child slumped down in the seat. I simply shook my head.
Amir POV
I walked through the doors of my new home. It was slightly smaller than my home back in Chicago. This home is only two stories. I guess we don't need that much space since it's only me and my mom.
"Help me with these boxes Mir." My mom said. She struggled trying to pick up a box that said Amir.
"Put it down ma. I got it." I told her. She dropped it without any doubt. There was a shattering noise coming from the box. I quickly opened it and saw broken picture frames with Jordan and I when we were younger.
"Selfieeee!" She screeched as she held the camera in our face. I tried hiding my face but it was too late.
"I hate pictures!" I pouted.
"You'll love them one day." She smiled widely.
"Amir!" My mom snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Huh?" I turned to her.
"I said take these broken picture frames in the house." She handed me the box. I sighed and grabbed the box headed in the house.
"Need help?" A soft voice spoke. Mom and I both turned to a girl standing at the end of our driveway.
Y'all might call me crazy but this girl looks just like Jordan! Well of course Jordan looked a little better.
"Yes baby. You could help with these heavy boxes." My mom didn't hesitate asking.
"Oh and I'm Carly." She flashed a smile before picking up the heavy box.
I'm assuming she likes Tupac because she had his face on her hoodie and her hat said 'Thug Life'.
"I'm Amir and that's my mom." I said.
We carried the boxes in the house while my mom was chilling on the porch.
"You're new to New York?" She asked.
"Yea. I came from Chicago." I said. Her face twisted.
"Chicago and New York is totally different. But I hope you enjoy New York." She shrugged.
I ignored what she said and stared at her. Everything about her screams thug. From the black bandana around her neck to the thug life sock hat. Then she has this thuggish vibe to her.
"Something in my nose?" She held her nose.
"Nah. I'm just checking you out." I said being honest.
"I hear too much talking and not enough working!" My mom said causing us to laugh.
"You probably think I'm some thug bitch or something right?" She smirked.
"Heck yea. I ain't even gone stunt." I shook my head.
"Well I'm a sweet girl I'm just a lil hood." She shrugged.
"Then you look like my old girlfriend." I said. She chuckled lightly.
"Jordan Collins huh?" She smirked.
"Yea you know her?" I asked.
"Do I know her? Man Jordan, Felix, and I used to turn New York upside down! We were the outlaw chicks and they hated to see us coming." She smirked as she reminisced.
"Yea that sound like Jordan lil wild ass." I laughed.
"So you liked my friend huh?" She smirked at me.
"Still do." I said being honest.
"Long distance love is the worst. I remember my boyfriend moved to Oklahoma and I felt like my life was over. But then I met Brett, and Tommy, and Jr, and Michael, and-"
"That's enough Carly." I laughed. I had to cut this crazy ass girl off with her list of niggas.
But at least I found a potential homie here.
