"Hello, everyone, we would like you to meet Prudence Night," Lydia introduced.
Lydia, Sabrina, and Prudence were currently in the Baxter High library, where Susie, Roz, and Harvey all sat. Luckily, Prudence hadn't taken too long getting ready, so they still had time to meet their friends before school started. As they walked to school that morning, Lydia told Prudence about high school in order to try and help her fit in with mortals. She was surprised when Prudence had paid attention to everything she was saying.
"She's our cousin who's visiting for Thanksgiving," Sabrina explained, adding further context to Prudence's presence.
"Prudence, these are our best friends, Susie and Roz, and this is Sabrina's boyfriend, Harvey," Lydia said, gesturing to each of them as she said their names. Susie gave Prudence a little wave, which Lydia thought was absolutely adorable.
"Very nice to meet you," Prudence greeted, before leaning down to the twins' ears and muttering, "You promised me boys."
"We just wanted you to meet our friends," Lydia whispered, "Also, you can have Harvey if you really want him. He doesn't really like me, anyway."
Sabrina elbowed Lydia in the arm before sitting down on the couch beside Harvey. Lydia and Prudence sat on the only empty couch of the three that were there.
"So, what are we talking about?" Sabrina asked.
"My ancestor, Dorothea," Susie began, "She was an early settler in Greendale, and was also a pirate who helped a group of women fleeing religious persecution from Scotland."
"Dorothea Putnam?" Prudence questioned, "We learned about her at my school. She was a true ally to those women. A hero to the marrow."
Lydia pinched the bridge of her nose. While Prudence's words were actually nice, which was rare, she didn't know how they were going to explain why they were learning about Susie's aunt at her school. Luckily for them, none of them thought anything of it.
"So I'm discovering," Susie said, nodding along.
"Did you turn up anything, Harvey?" Roz asked.
"Yeah, but it's kind of messed up," Harvey said, "Basically, the Kinkles got ownership of the mines in a — a land grab. Kicked some people out who lived in the hills and took them over."
"What does that mean?" Sabrina asked.
"By 'kicked out', he means killed. And by 'took over', he means stole," Prudence snapped, "What did you say your family name is?"
"Harvey?" Sabrina questioned.
"Kinkle," Harvey answered.
"So, you're a descendant of the Von Kunkles, then," Prudence stated. Harvey nodded, hesitantly.
"Those 'hill people' your ancestors killed were witches. Which makes your family witch —"
"Come on, Prudence, everybody knows witches aren't real," Sabrina cut in, trying to defuse the situation. Lydia simply covered her face with her hands, not believing what was happening.
"Your family committed atrocities, and blood-atonement is demanded."
"Kidding! She's kidding!" Sabrina exclaimed, standing up and walking over to Lydia and Prudence, "Uh, 'Di and I are going to show her the rest of school, but we will see you guys later!"
