ACT I — CHAPTER VIII
Wɪᴛᴄʜ Aᴄᴀᴅᴇᴍʏ

"No, no, no, The Fly is about body dysmorphia."

Lydia, Sabrina, Susie, Roz, and Harvey sat in Dr. Cerberus's discussing the movie they had just seen, The Fly. Susie was trying to prove to Harvey that there was a deeper meaning to the movie, but he didn't see it like she did.

"Isn't it about a guy who turns into a giant fly?" Harvey asked.

"The original, yes, but Cronenberg said his remake was a metaphor for STDs," Sabrina answered. Susie eagerly nodded.

"Guys, what are we doing this weekend?" Roz asked.

"Well, my dad is going to the farm expo for three days, so I'm stuck at home by myself," Susie said.

"Ooh, let's have a girls' night," Roz suggested.

"Uh —" Susie started.

"C'mon, Susie, please?" Roz begged, "My mom and dad are trying to get me to lead this youth group at their church this weekend. Staying with you would give me the perfect excuse not to do that."

"I dunno, Roz."

"'Brina, 'Di, you two in?" Roz asked.

"Actually, 'Brina and I will also be at the expo this weekend," Lydia told her, "We're going to help our Aunt Hilda sell her honey."

This was a lie. The truth was that Lydia and Sabrina were going to be spending the weekend at the Academy of Unseen Arts. But they couldn't tell their friends that, for obvious reasons.

"Wait, you're not gonna be gone the entire expo, are you?" Harvey asked Sabrina.

"Yeah, we are," Sabrina said, "but I have a coping strategy. Whenever I'm really missing you, I'll hold you close to my heart."

Sabrina held up the locket Harvey gave her. Lydia, Susie, and Roz all shared a look and jokingly rolled their eyes.

"Call me the second you get back. I'll come right over," Harvey said.

And then they were making out on the couch. Lydia fake gagged and pointed at her mouth, which caused Susie to laugh.

"Uh, relax, Romeo, it's three days," Roz said.

"Yeah. I mean seriously you guys," Susie added.

"Okay, you can do that all you want when we get back from the expo, just save our eyes," Lydia said. They finally stopped kissing and just smiled at each other. Lydia felt a pit in her stomach and felt herself wishing she could show her love for Susie in the same way Sabrina showed her love for Harvey.

That night, the twins packed for their stay at the Academy. Ambrose sat on Lydia's bed, petting Muertos as Salem paced by his feet.

"Aren't you two even a little excited?" Ambrose asked them.

"We're stressed, Ambrose," Sabrina replied, "Starting a new school is stressful."

"We also have to lie to Susie, Roz, and Harvey," Lydia continued, "Plus, I'm not thrilled about having to spend three nights at the Academy. Why do we have to do that, anyway?"

"It's your induction," Ambrose explained. He stood up and walked towards them, "Cousins, you are on the precipice of a stupendous new adventure at the Academy of Unseen Arts. You will meet interesting witches and warlocks from all over the world. Some of them, a great many of them, will be hot."
