....It felt warm yet cold, he felt the sun's light gaze upon his face yet it felt as though he was beneath the moon. He opened his eyes to meet a pale sky, its color seemed to clash together like the sun and moon, he brought himself up to a seated position. He glanced around the area around him, feeling the spiky grass beneath his hands, its blades tickling his palms.
The area around him had been wiped of color, everything had looked as though it was painted over with a faded gray, the area itself had been similar to a field of flowers yet it seemed more of a grass field, trees scattered around as if it had acted as a small border around the field in the distance. He brought himself up from the patch of grass he had been sitting on, turning on his heel to face the center of the tree-bordered field.
Much like the rest of the area it was drained with a faded gray, yet at the very center a small bed of blue flowers, and a faded figure seated around them.He inched closer to the transparent figure, the figure had been picking the blue colored flowers, taking them and making bundles of flowers, each pedal more gorgeous than last.
"Hello..?" He spoke shakily, the figure jumped, dropping a small cluster of flowers when it did. His eyes widened, the figures pale complexion and faded appearance, it almost looked familiar in a way.A faint voice spoke to him in a way he couldn't quite understand, it was hard to decipher whether the wind had grown a voice or if it had been the figure speaking.
Wake up.
It said with a faint echo, and it had said it again with the exception of it being louder and louder each time it repeated those words until it was practically screaming in his ears.
WAKE UP.
...
Daniel woke in a shock, he sat up the minute his eyes gazed upon his ceiling, his breath uneven and shaking. He placed a hand on top of his forehead, even his head felt warm, it seemed like having these dreams were constant, where it would seem like there was something there waiting but would be left with nothing, well except for the constant waking and paranoia of sleeping without getting chased by some idiot with a stupidly large axe.
Daniel sighed, he didn't want to deal with the day ahead but it wasn't looking like he could sleep anymore with those stupid dreams. He brought himself to get out of bed, tiredly rubbing beneath his eyes.
It was often these moments of the day where Daniel would start to doze off, when he was in college he remembered getting up and walking out the door ready for the school day, next minute he was suddenly in a flooding bathroom with some kids in his class. The incident with the flooding bathroom came back into light about a month after it had happened, according to Tommy some genius thought it would be a good idea to flush all his failing test papers in the boys bathroom, and maybe a teachers grade book while he was at it. Why not?
Of course the dumbass got caught, but only after a month of detention because the faculty were complete morons and played by the 'you were there when it happened meaning it was you' rule, and boy did they enforce that rule, it was nearly the most horrid month ever, no wonder why Tommy bailed after a while. At the things Daniel had seen he wasn't even remotely surprised when he suddenly opened his eyes to be standing in the living room, at least it wasn't that stupid bathroom.
It was as though the living room had remained trapped in 1990. The walls still matted in the same beige paint that Lucas always tended to complain about when he had too much to drink, well more than he usually did. The couch was propped against the wall, precisely parallel to the door, meaning if you were to bust through the door with a running start you would most likely end up tripping on the good old trusty dark oak coffee table Laurel bought at a thrift shop one summer as a reminder of how underpaid we all are.
The gray box they all agreed to call a radio box sat upon a black TV stand, and a chess table and two wooden stools neatly tucked underneath the table, just to the right of the living room entrance, and looking to the left of the entrance you could see a small hallway that lead to the kitchen and the dining room.
