Run!
The last week was a bit of a slur. It was filled with engagements, Loki had to attend, meaning that you had to attend also. Royal engagements never were fun, mostly tedious and boring. But there was something about this week, that had made them even more unbearable. Even your husband - who always knew a way to make things interesting, often not for the good of his royal status, had no tricks up his sleeve this time. You were a little disappointed by that. The days all consisted of polite small talk, political talk, and food. Lots of it. To make matters worse, no alcohol. Due to some religious holiday of the visiting royal family, who couldn't drink this week, Odin had decided as a sign of good will to not serve any alcohol. You got the political motivation behind his reasoning, but had cursed him several times that week in your head.

The guests had finally left and you were now enjoying a quiet meal with your husband. Unfortunately, it was not a comfortable silence the two of you had fallen in. Both of you were still in an awful mood from the whole week. Literally nothing interesting had happened, that you could discuss. Of course, there were a lot of other topics the two of you could talk about. But for some reason both of you had decided to endure your meal in silence, waiting for this week to end. You were absently minded playing with your food. Not paying attention to your surroundings. You were looking around when your eyes locked with Loki's. His green eyes sparked trouble, and knowing the devilish smirk that was plastered on his face, trouble was sure to follow.

You stared at him, waiting for something to happen. But what happened, was not wat you expected. Loki sat up straight, he looked taller that way. His facial expression changed from trouble to regal, he clearly felt like he was in charge at the moment. And what followed was him leaning a bit closer towards you and he gently tells you 'Run'.

'What?' you asked.

'Run' he repeated again in the same gentle voice. 'You have 10 seconds' he added.

You abruptly stood up. You still looked into his eyes. His eyes which were saying I dare you to defy me. The adrenaline was starting to pump through your veins. Your breathing was already increasing and the thrill was starting to take control of you. Loki watched you intently, and that's when he said '5'

That was the moment you ran towards the door, quickly running through, and slamming it shut behind you. Hoping it would buy you more time, before Loki caught you. Because you both knew, you could run all you like, but there was a moment coming that he would catch you. How long it would take and what Loki would do if he did finally catch you, you didn't know. You quickly sprinted down the hall, reached the staircase and started to descend. Loki knew the palace and every little shortcut like the back of his hand. Your best chance was to remove yourself and him from palace grounds.

When you were downstairs you had a choice to make. You could run to the left or to the right. Either way was leading towards the gardens, so it didn't really matter. But you still hesitated. You turned left, but then Loki walked around the corner. He was standing at the end of the hallway with a wolfish look on his face, that made the adrenaline run faster through you. You turned around and quickly run the other way. When you were almost at the door that would lead you to the gardens, you saw Loki suddenly appear in front of you.

The two of you were standing a few meters apart from each other. Your eyes locked in a staring contest. But that's when you realized, that this wasn't really Loki. If he had teleported, there would be a green glow, but there wasn't. Meaning that the Loki standing in front of you, was one of his doubles. You could go through them. You gave him a wink and sprinted towards him. You jumped at him and indeed went through. You slid the door to the side and entered the gardens.

You ran as quick as you could through them, ignoring Loki's who were popping up right and left from you. You knew they weren't real. One appeared in front of you, but you just went through like the others. Suddenly you bumped into the back of a guard. He turned around and annoyingly looked at you. You saw from his face that he was about the scold you, but he didn't get to start because a green glow appeared behind you. Loki was standing at a distance. And you knew that he was real this time. The guard looked at it, bowed to the both of you and slowly backed away. Everyone knew better by now than to interrupt Loki in his games, especially his games that involved you.
