Kayla: Mommy can we play in the pool today?
She asks with a mouth full of pancakes,
Bella: of course we can sweetheart.
Kayla: Do you think Daddy could come over?
Bella: I don't think so baby, Daddy has to work he can't always be here.
Kayla: Okay
She sighs,
Bella: but when I have to work you won't have to stay with Addison all the time, Daddy will be able to look after you.
Kayla: Really?!
Bella: Yeah of course, You'll be able to go over to his house and play with him and Bryce will be there too.
Kayla: Ooh I'm so excited! When are you going to work?
Bella: Not until Monday baby.
Kayla: but that's an entire day away!
Bella: It'll go by quickly love don't worry.
Kayla: Can we go in the pool now?
Bella: Wait until your food goes down. I don't want you to be sick.
Kayla: Okay
Bella: but how about you go pick out the swimsuit you want?
Kayla: okay!
She says jumping off the sofa and running upstairs to her room.
A few minutes later she comes down holding her purple mermaid swimsuit.

Kayla: I want to wear this one!
Bella: okay sweetheart, Do you want me to help you get changed?
Kayla: yes please.
We go upstairs and I help her change into her swimsuit.
Bella: go find your arm bands and I'll get changed
She nods and goes to find her arm bands,
I go into my room and find a bikini to wear.
I pick out a light blue bikini,

Kayla; Mommy I found them!
She says running into the room,
Bella: Okay baby,
We both go outside and sit on the sun loungers.
I blow up her arm bands and help her put them on.
Kayla: can I get in the pool now?
Bella: yeah
She runs and jumps into the pool, I walk over and sit on the edge of the pool.
Kayla: Mommy watch this!
She shouts, I look over and see her trying to swim like a mermaid.
Bella: woah baby that's so good!
Kayla: Mommy can I go get a drink?
Bella: yeah of course you can
She nods and gets out of the pool, she wraps her towel around her and runs into the kitchen.
A few moments later she comes running out with a cup of juice and my phone.
Kayla: Mommy your phone is ringing. It is Ja-de-n
She says spelling out his name.
She hands me the phone and sits on one of the sun loungers with her juice.
I answer the call and hold the phone up to my ear.
Bella: Hello?
Jaden: Hi Bell,
Bella: Hi Jaden,
Jaden: I was just wanting to know if Kayla was upset about me leaving before she woke up. I really wanted to say goodbye to her but I felt bad waking her up and I needed to get to work - fuck I'm such a bad Dad already-
Bella: Jaden shut up, You had to work it's no big deal. She was a bit upset when she woke up but she's fine now. She's just happy she finally has a Dad, It doesn't matter if you went to work without saying goodbye.
Jaden: Okay, I just felt really bad. I promised her I'd play with her today and I left-
Bella: Jaden stop overthinking she's too young to hate you cause you needed to leave and if you're not busy now you can come over. We're just playing in the pool.
Jaden: Is it okay if I come?
Bella: would I suggest it if it wasn't?
Jaden: you're right as always, I'll be there soon.
Bella: Okay bye Jaden.
Jaden: Bye Bell,
He says before hanging up the call.
Kayla: was that daddy?
She asks walking over to me and placing her hands on my shoulder.
Bella: that was Daddy yes,
Kayla: Is he coming over?
Bella: yes he is,
Kayla: Yay! I can show him my mermaid swimming! I can teach him how to do it!
Bella: I'm sure he'll love that.
Kayla: I better practice before he comes!
She says jumping back into the pool again.
I laugh to myself as I watch her swim around.
