I can hear Rosa going off in the dining room as I come bounding down the stairs.
"This isn't a cafe. You get what I make, or you fend for yourself." Rosa huffs and I peek into the dining room to see who set her off. Rosa has her hands on her hips, and is glaring down at Amber almost daring her to speak. Everyone is staring around the room to see who will break the silence.
Taking this as my cue, I bounce into the dining room cheerfully.
"Good Morning Rosa!" I sing out throwing my arms up in an "I'm here" pose.
"Aye Dios Mio, how does such a tiny girl make so much noise." Rosa greets me in our usual way. I look around the table, confused because I don't see my iced coffee. I'm debating commenting on it, because of whatever stand off Amber and Rosa are in, then I see Trevor shake my coffee in front of him.
"Are you drinking my coffee?" I ask him accusingly. He shrugs, and I glare at him. "That is chock full of sugar, carbs, and fats. That's it, I'm calling your trainer. You are going to have to skip the lake and work out all day to burn what you just stole from me." I accuse and stomp over to rip my coffee from his hands.
"I had a very hard work out this morning, and can be rewarded with something sweet. I earned it sassy pants." He teases, but it's different then usual. Softer. More playful, almost flirty. I cock an eyebrow at him.
"I bet" I say and slump into the chair next to him. "So why do we hate Amber this morning?" I ask the room and Rosa rolls her eyes at me, then storms into the kitchen. "What the hell, no seriously, what did you do to Rosa?" I ask grabbing a croissant from the bread basket. "Not everyone talk at once." I say when no one says anything.
"I just asked her if I could have an egg white omelet like Trevor, and she got pissed." Amber pouts.
"Ahhh, yep, that will do it." I laugh and reach for the yogurt, everyone else starts to dish their plates, and Trevor grabs my bowl to add a second scoop of yogurt, two spoonfuls of raspberries and blueberries, and a ridiculous helping of granola, then hands it back to me. I smile, realizing that he knows exactly how I like my yogurt, then fix my face as I look around the table and see that Reece is scrutinizing our exchange with way too much interest.
Conversation starts to pick up around the table, and soon Reece is talking to Jess, Brady and Derek are discussing where to check out ion the lake today, Amber is glaring at her plate, and Trevor and I are fighting over my coffee.
"Are you heading out tomorrow Trevor?" Brady asks
"Where are you going?" I ask him.
"I have a fight next weekend in Vegas, I leave Monday to get ready and do promos." He says like I should have known.
"Are we going to go watch the fight?" I ask Brady, almost in panic.
"No, this is just preliminaries, we will go to watch live for the finals though." Brady says proudly.
"Oh" I say and try not to pout. I just got this man in my bed, and now he is leaving to go fight. What the hell?
