Music was always there for me. And still is. Music has been my comfort since day one.

It's one of those things that pushes me to keep going forward. Something that motivates me throughout my day. It's something that make me feel better and confident about myself a little more, everyday. Even with all the things life and school challenge me with.

I've always had music. My trusty companion that fills me with a feeling of hope even if it's not a permanent feeling. A feeling that flows about in the wind and comes back around once every time.

I can sing my heart out. Sing my heart out to it's full intent. Without no interruptions, no disturbances. Just me being one with the music. Sing until I can't sing no more. And when I'm done, I'm filled with many emotions. Filled with joy to carry me away from my thoughts. To a place where I can be. Really just be. Be myself without the judgment, negativity. If only for a little while. It's just nice to enjoy it while it last.

"I don't know what could be done..." Ma trails off, deep in her conversation with her friends. I don't like to eavesdrop but sometimes it's just in my nature to.

While she's busy, I alert Jamal and together we try to sneak a bit of the feast she's been slaying in the kitchen to make. So like why let it go to waste. Too late. Before I can even grab a bite out the delicious juicy chicken, we're shooed out of the kitchen.

"We it was worth a try. I don't know why she keeping that good-good food to herself." Jamal say's sneakily.

"It's always worth a try. And she's not keeping to herself. She's making us wait until everything is ready but we are hungry now." We make our way back to our room to try and discuss a distraction or another plan. Loot and Snatch. Where one of us distracts ma while the other loads up a couple pieces in a bag. And then we walk away pulling off one of the best stunts.

We get smacked in the head with wooden spoon.

"Ow!" We say in unison.

"Get out of here. Your greedy butts can wait. Go get some fruit if you want something to snack on until it's done."

"Welp. Looks like we aren't getting any of that good-good chicken anytime soon." Jamal says, rubbing the spot where he got hit in the head.

"Stop saying good-good. Just say delicious or something non-ridiculous. We'll sadly just have to wait." Without any triumph we walk once again to out room but this time with our hands fill with a bowl of fruit.

15 minutes later... "Foods ready". Jamal and me hear ma say. We race all the way over their pushing and shoving each other to get to the table first.

"Stop all that horse playing in here. You could get hurt."

"Everything looks good ma." Jamal and me say in unison, again.
"Thank you." It was definitely worth it to wait on all the food.

"Whoo! That was some feast. Famished no more." Jamal pats his face with a napkin and rubs his belly as if he hasn't ate in years.

"Oh, shut up. But that was really good."

"What did I tell you Amelia?"

"Yes ma'am I know. And thank you the food was good." Me and Jamal walk away carrying our plate to the sink. We bother each other going on and on about how he was never hunting for his food and he was born the same time I was. Well three minutes before but potato-potato.

"You're welcome. You two are twins and yet I remain I'm surprised how you guys haven't pulled out each others hair that much."

"Oh we have." Once again we say quietly in unison and we turn to glare at each other.

"If I beat you up the step you have to rub my feet and play Fortnite with me." The look in his eyes show how determined he is and I can't pass up such a fine offer to show him how good I am at winning bets.

"Fine." I shake his hand and race his to his room and pass him. I beat him and now he had to rub my feat.

"Ah, ha. I won. Rub my feet." I pump my fists in the air representing my triumph.

"Ugh, this is torture. With your stinky potato feet." Holding his nose he pretends like he's falling out from the smell.

"Oh hush! This will teach you better than to mess with the queen. And for your information my feet are cleaner than yours could every be. They smell of lavender."

"Still. I think you cheated. You probaly did something that I didn't see that led you to win." Jamal says, crossing his arms looking into space being dramatic.

"Nope. Nothing. Nada. I did nothing to cheat. I won fair and square but as always you're too stubborn to admit that."

"You have not seen the last of The Unpredictable J." Jamal says this as he marches off so dramatically into the darkness. Seriously where does he get his names from and what other ridiculous nonsense remains unknown in that big ole head of his? This I will never know, it remains unknown till heard.

"You're just mad!" It's just nice to win and rub it in his face and this proves my point exactly. It's not like he doesn't do the exact same thing to me.
