"Fuck, I'm going to be late...I'm so getting fired!"

I ran on the gravel path that weaved through the local park and frantically looked around. There were people all around so not only did I have to run on gravel in heels but I also had to dodge little children with no sense of direction!

In my defence, this wasn't my fault! Okay so I woke up an hour late...and I lost my folder...and I may have had a few drinks the night before. But I missed the bus so, I guess that balances it out?

At the exact moment I broke into a sprint, a small boy stepped out in front of me. I fell and collided with the gravel, my arms whacking the ground.

"Ahh! Oh my fu-fudge. Oh my fudge..."

I quickly changed my words, realising there was a young impressionable child staring at me. My head turned to the boy and I smiled the smallest smile I could.

"Where's your mother darling?"

The boy simply shook his head and ran off as if nothing had happened. Typical.

"Kids, adorable little devils."

I heard a voice from behind me and my shoulders dropped. Great, someone else to make me even later. I stood up and began to speak whilst brushing myself off.

"If you ask me they should be put on a leash."

He let out a small laugh and I looked up.

In front of me stood the most gorgeous human being I had ever met. His light green eyes were covered slightly by brown hair. He had a muscular build which could be made out just by how his t-shirt fitted him. And his smile...I could watch him smile all day.

"Well that's a bit far, don't you think? They are only young and some people would kill for a child."

He smiled and I shrugged, looking down. He made me feel weak, just by looking at him. The way he spoke? Hypnotic.

"Well, it's hard to love children when you hate everyone."

He raised an eyebrow and stepped in closer, brushing a piece of hair away from my face. He half-smiled, making him 1000x hotter than before.

"Surely you can't hate everyone?"

I froze, transfixed by his touch. I could feel his breath against my face and cast my eyes away.

"Tell me, what's your name?"

I glanced up and saw his soft eyes focused on me. I swiftly moved my eyes away to avoid blushing.

"Alice...what is yours?"

He chuckled before retreating back and looking me up and down.

"Luke. But you can call me yours."

He winked before walking off into the crowds of people. I simply watched the empty space where he had stood moments ago with only one thought in my mind.

What just happened?
