Harper woke up the next morning wearing less clothes that she was willing to admit and in an unfamiliar pair of arms.

She could feel his muscles against her but somehow she was comfortable yet uncomfortable at the same time.

His embrace was warm and she didn't want to leave it but she knew that work was more important.

As she tried to wiggle her way out of his arms he startled awake.

"huh what's happen- oh" He paused once he saw Harper. "just to clear up did we... or like an i dreaming"

"nope we definitely did" she let out a slight giggle at the end the night before hadn't really sank in.

"we'll if you go shower i'll go make you some breakfast" he kissed her cheek, pulled on a pair of joggers and left the room.

Harper pulled the blankets up to her chest then fell back into her bed with a smile on her face thinking about what happened.

After a few minutes she forced herself to get out of bed, put on her dressing gown and go take a shower before it was too late.

In the kitchen Aaron was making himself at home. He quickly got an idea where Harper kept all the things he would need to make a breakfast for them both.

Seeing that she had Sausages, Eggs, Beans and bread He tried his best to make an english breakfast.

But he was interrupted by a knock on the door.

Jake had barely slept that night. He had a feeling of guilt in his stomach ever since he called Harper about the case. He hate the fact that she sounded mad at him.

So it wasn't exactly a surprise when he found himself in front of her apartment door early that morning.

While he was awake throughout the night he had plenty of time to work would he would say based on different scenarios.

If she was upset he would apologise continuously and tell her he'll do anything she wants if it'll make her feel better.

If she was happy he would still apologise and maybe give her a hug.

If she wasn't there he would bring her coffee to work.

But what really happened was the only situation he hadn't prepared for.

Never in a million years did he expect a boy to open the door, never mind some guy who he thought looked like a green god compared to him.

He froze and wondered if the boy being there was why she wasn't interested and speaking to him when he had called.

It took him a minute to realise that he was the Aaron boy harper had talked about. He only knew because he did what he would like to call a quick (hour long) google search on the guy out of 'curiosity.'

"Hey man are you alright?" Aaron asked the detective standing in front of him.

"yeah is um is Harper here? it's an um work thing yeah a work thing" Jake mentally cursed he knew there was no reason for him to be shocked he had no right to be.

"Oh yeah she's just quickly jumped into the shower what's your name so I can shout through to her.

"Jake Peralta" He hated the idea of Aaron going through to the girls shower.

"Okay then jake how about you come in and sit and she should just be a second" His tone felt taunting but Jake isn't entirely convinced it is unrelated to the pit he feels in his stomach. It was that exact moment Jake realised it was time for him to get over Harper.

"Yeah cool, cool" He slowly walked in and sat on the couch. the atmosphere was different than last time he was there.

"Harper some guy called Jake from your work is here" he heard Aaron shout from the other room. "And your breakfast is almost ready"

Jake was slightly aggravated who does Aaron think he is calling him "some guy" not everyone can just be models making money because everyone is in love with them.

He seriously debated just leaving before Harper came out and acting as though Aaron made up the whole thing. But he knew he couldn't he needed this last little moment before he completely moved on. He just needed one last chance to see if anything was there.

Harper was confused when she heard Aaron shout that jake was there. She finished her shower in a time so fast it could of been recorded in the Guinness book of world records.

As she had brought the clothes she needed that day in with her she hopped out and out then in once she was dry then she wrapped her hair in the towel to allow it to dry a bit.

"Hey hey i'm here, Jake? what are you doing here" She stumbled out the bathroom but looked him straight in the eyes as soon as she saw him.

Aaron wished he was but he wasn't stupid. He knew that look. It was Jake not him. He had to admit it was probably one of the first times it had ever happened but for some reason Harper had feelings for Jake.

He was disappointed although he didn't actually want a relationship with Harper he enjoyed her company and thought he would grow feelings towards her after all he wasn't blind she was definitely gorgeous.

But he also got the sense that Jake didn't feel the same way for her at least not anymore. The look on his face just showed that he had enough.

"nothing nothing i just thought i'd see if you like needed a ride or anything today because it's like a different day so like i'll just get going because i mean you look like you have everything sorted bye i'll see you in the precinct." With that being said he left. Jake was angry at himself? why would he do that? He knew one thing, seeing the way she came out of the bathroom and the mix of Aaron being there was enough for him to realise the chance of anything ever going in between them was gone.

Aaron saw the new look on harper face as she also realised the chance of anything happening between her and jake left the moment he walked out of the door. Without saying a word he walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her frame trying to give her at least a little if the comfort she so desperately needed.

Harper didn't understand why she cared her feelings came on way too fast for them to be true she only moved to america a couple of months ago.

The only problem was she knew that no matter how quick she gained the feelings it's going to be extremely difficult to lose them.
