I gawked at the brothers. They stayed silent, believing they could ignore my feelings and they would go away just like that. When I glanced at them one more time, I realized I had scarified myself by sleeping with them and there was no way they were ever going to let me leave.

Knox's hand traveled to my neck. His eyes were a bright gold and the bags underneath them dark. "You know you want us as much as we want you." He gave my throat a small squeeze.

The gaping feeling between my legs troubled me once more. My insides were stretched roughly earlier by their cocks and having nothing inside it anymore dulled me. The urge to be taken and thrown over the bed again was there but I avoided reaching to it as I had other things to be concerned about. My sexual needs weren't as important as my return to my family was.

And I no longer couldn't go back.

Not with Cain's mark glowering over my neck.

The mark burned when Knox pressed his trimmed fingers onto it. The sensation lasted for a couple of seconds and then he moved his hand aside.

"No. I don't want—both of you." I replied, moving my eyes to the twins one by one.

"That will change." He smiled at me before turning his back and leaving with Cain.

They departed from the estate without saying anything anymore. Left clueless and confused, I stayed on my feet for a few minutes, trying to gather my thoughts and emotions. The mark continued to pulsate. It was an itch that I could never ever get rid of. I still couldn't understand their reasoning to marking me. It was not because they wanted to control me—they were doing that either way.

It was something else and I was going to reach to the bottom of it. Cain was surprisingly much more mysterious than I had thought. Maybe he truly desired me or maybe he held an agenda against me.

I spaced back into reality and went up the stairs, this time heading to my room where I asked Natalie to sit inside while I dealt with the mark on my neck.

My face was full of shame when I stepped in the room. "It's a mark."

She jumped up from the bed, her eyes full of questions and her face confused. "Who marked you, Candice? Why did you allow it to happen?"

"You can't tell Mom and Dad." I grabbed her hands and begged.

"They will find out, eventually."

My image was going to be tarnished for mating and getting marked by an Alpha—a goddamn werewolf. Couldn't it be a vampire? I would've been a little happier than I was. Just as werewolves hated vampires, vampires hated werewolves and it was a known fact that these two species avoided each other all the time. We never crossed paths until now, until the dark creature came into our world and took away our peace.

"I know. But just for a while, don't tell them."

"Who was it?" Natalie raised her brow. "Did you sleep with them? The ones that are keeping you here?" Her eyes grew wider.

"Yes. One of them. Cain." I responded, in all honesty. "It was an act of love, and I didn't feel it until you pointed it out." I sprinkled in a bit of lie to cover up all that I had to deal with here, in Thornwood. "I'm sorry. I should've been a little careful about it all."

"You slept with him?" She wasn't angry.

I swallowed the bile growing in my throat and nodded, "Both..."

"Both?"

"Yes."

"What has gotten into your mind, lady?" She slapped my upper arm and laughed. "Not one but two and two known Alpha's."

"You're not pissed?"

She lowered herself over the bed and spread her arms across the mattress. "I'm not, Candice, for as long as you're being careful about your feelings. Don't let people fool you over, especially not guys. They can be very tricky creatures and I don't want my sister to get heartbroken by anyone." She explained, cooping down to me.

I was in loss of words. "Wow." I breathed out, unable to say anything else. Natalie supported me in many of the life decisions I had taken but I never believed she'd support me into having sex with someone. "Thank you."

"I'm always here for you."

My heart pounded and I reached down before sweeping her into a tight hug. She caressed my back and patted it a few times while chuckles left her lips.

"Your sex life apart. What are your intentions about returning?" She questioned, backing away.

My thoughts went spiraling again. I had promised the twins about sending my sister back home alone and staying here. It was what they wanted for me, and I almost wanted the same, except, I missed my parents and I wanted to be around them.

"I can't leave, Nat." I whispered, sitting beside her. My eyes lowered to my fingers as I played with the hem of my shirt. "It's not about the Alpha's or anything else."

"Then what is it about?"

I looked up and the horror of that night crossed my mind. "I looked into the eyes of the dark creature. He stood in front of me, and I was so close to my death," My face flushed with sorrow and tears dripped down my cheeks. "I can't feel it again. I really don't want to. I know I can escape, I can run and I can keep running but I don't want to do that. Being here gives me the comfort I really want and need."

Remorse filled up Natalie's face. "You did?"

I nodded, "It was hideous, and I was so close to meeting my doom."

"I'm sorry."

My expression tightened and I grabbed her hands again, this time, hoping she would agree to whatever I would be saying. "Please, stay with me. You don't have to go home either. It's not safe there." I begged.

"Our parents are there, and the entire clan is expecting for my return. I've to go home. You cut yourself off from everyone, therefore you were freed but I have duties and things to take care off." She explained slowly. Lines of worries and wrinkles spread throughout her forehead as she continued, "I want to feel safe too, but this isn't our town nor our home."

"What if we make it?" The words left my throat without a breath.

She blew out a breath and asked, "What do you mean?"

At the verge of spilling everything, I slapped my hand over my mouth before I proceeded while remembering everything was being recorded, including the conversation I was having with my sister as of now.

"Nothing." I shook my head and silenced myself down. "Stay for another day at the apartment. I'll come visit you there tomorrow."

"Mom and Dad are wanting to speak with you."

"And I'll speak to them—tomorrow."
