Natalie left as quickly as she came. I didn't want her to stay for long nor ever meet with any of the twins. I showed her the directions to the hotel apartment and where my car was parked before I was drugged and kidnapped by the twins. Spilling and repeating the entire story wasn't needed. She knew only what I told her through the calls and the messages.

There was a lot of questions and curiosity in the air. Even after being here for more than a few weeks, none of my questions were answered. Whatever was cooking within this pack was surely something no one had ever about, and I wanted to know. But every time I got close to finding something, I was either caught, distracted, or seduced.

Once more, I found myself lurking around the house late at evening before finding a peaceful spot inside the library where a thousand books were untouched and stocked. I picked up a picture book and moved across the pages to sway my attention away from the servants around me. Their blood, their scents—it was calling for me.

I licked my red lips and focused on the random picture of an elephant. The scent of blood became stronger, and I squeezed my eyes tight.

"Trying to distract yourself from the obvious?" His deep voice rumbled underneath my ear, and I jumped up from the couch. My heart raced and my body went cold at Knox's sudden presence. "It's hard, isn't it?"

I placed my hand over my thumping heart before sitting back down and closing the picture book in my hand. "I'm not distracting myself from anything." I replied, clearing my throat to force my voice sound a bit more stern.

"I know you're hungry."

"I'm not." I didn't dare glancing at him and seeing the devilry in his eyes. The longer I could avoid it, the longer I wasn't going to feel the hunger.

He shifted slightly over to see my face, but I turned away. "Then look at me and tell me you're not hungry." His words, a torment.

"No."

I glanced over at his legs that shifted a little. He made a couple hand movements, gesturing the two servants inside the library to leave. A moment later, they were gone, and the door was pushed closed. There was a loud thump of the wood hitting wood before everything feel into silence. There was only one person left in the room, Knox, and it was only his blood that I wanted to have.

Hunger tightened in my throat. He slid his hand behind my neck and his thumb caressed my skin softy. I flicked my desperate gaze to him and met with his eyes where I found no devilry—for the first time. There was an odd spark in them when they connected with mine.

When he leaned in, I was paralyzed. His lips neared to mine. I avoided moving. As much as I wanted all of it, I needed to find a way to fulfill my demands before giving into their demands. But, to my unfortunate luck, Knox found the need in my eyes, and he swooped in for a kiss.

I raised my hands and tangled my fingers around his hair almost immediately. It didn't take a second for me to snap and give in to his desirable kiss. He grasped the back of my neck to steady himself while deepening the kiss. His dominant tongue demanded entrance and I granted it. The softness of his lower lip slipped into my mouth and without a thought, I bit down hard and rough.

He pulled my hair back and smiled, "Kinky."

I flashed my teeth at him. Bad choice. "What are you going to do about it?"

His hands held either side of my hair and he grabbed it hard before letting it go. My scalp burned at the pressure. "Why don't you get down on your knees and then I'll show you what I can do?"
