•Chapter Thirteen: Happy Ever After•

By the way, someone commented on my other chapter about Elsa wearing long sleeves, wondering if she was cutting. Honestly, I didn't even think about that! I'm sorry if that's what you thought, because I just put it in there to show how Jack was paying attention and really cared about her.

I promise I would never put stuff like that in my story. Fan fictions are supposed to take you away from reality, not bring the worst out of it.

Okay, now back to the story!!!

•Hiccup•

I walk towards Merida's house awkwardly. I decided not to drive just because we both share a love of outdoors, so it gives us something to talk about. The only other thing we really have in common is our dogs. I have a giant wolf hybrid I named Toothless, whom's Jack's mortal enemy, and she has a shire dog named Angus. I don't know why Merida named him that, but he's pretty awesome so that's another thing we talk about. Other than that, she tells me things I don't understand, and I tell her things she doesn't understand.

Reaching the house, I walk up to the door. I'll never get used to how abnormally large it seems. Merida's the one to answer it.

"Hey, ready to go?" I silently notice that she didn't grab a jacket.

"Yup. I'm off!" She calls to someone in the home before walking out.

We walk to the theater, talking mostly about how the summer's been and how baseball's been doing. I don't follow most sports, but I knew she'd want to talk about it so I've been researching all week. My favorite team is the Dodgers.

It doesn't take long to get to the theater, and thankfully I already got tickets, so we don't have to wait in the mile long line that's starting to form. We had decided to see Dressed In Blood, a scary (but not horror) movie about a dead girl or something like that.

The problem with movies is that you can't talk much. Really, you can't do anything except stare at the screen. And for that reason, the movie takes forever.

But, eventually, the movie ends and everyone catches their breath. They said it wasn't a horror movie, but it was terrifying! Merida's still laughing from me screaming exactly six more times than her. But, in my defense, she only screamed once. I guess that doesn't really help...

Almost everyone else has already left, so Merida and I get up to walk out. Now we have something to talk about besides sports!

I notice how dark it's gotten, and a cold breeze surrounds us, but I can't feel it. I'm too busy noticing the way Merida subtly rubs her hand over her arm, pretending she's not cold. Man, Jack was right.

"Merida, you look freezing!" She starts to protest, but I swing my jacket off in one smooth step. Not that I had been practicing, of course... "Here, take my jacket."

She starts to protest again, probably going to say something about how she doesn't need someone to take care of her, but stops. She accepts my jacket and mumbles a thanks. I grin proudly.

It only takes a few minutes to get to back to Merida's house. She has three younger brothers, so her house is completely dark. It's kinda creepy, it's just like a scene in that movie.

"Here's your jacket back." Merida lingers by me for just a little bit, which makes me smile. "Well, this was fun. Let's do it again sometime."

"Yeah, definitely!" I pause. "Be careful tonight, by the way." I can't hide the teasing hint in my voice.

Merida tilts her head. "Why?"

I turn my voice into a tiny whisper, so she has to lean even closer to me. She's so close I can actually feel the warmth of her cheek. It makes my breath catch. "Because... She just wants your blood." I repeat the slogan of the movie creepily. That should've definitely tipped us off that it would not be a fun movie.
