I know, Valentine's Day was a month ago and I totally missed it. But I wasn't in the mood to write one back then and I kept pushing it off until now. So here you go, whether you like it or not! (Ps I hope you like it :))

Valentine's Day is on a Saturday this year, so I should have been able to sleep in. But of course, my hyperactive boyfriend had something else in mind.

Last night, we were going out to dinner at a nice place and he remembered the next day was Valentine's Day. Of course, he asked if I would be his Valentine. Naturally, I teased that I would not, because he had forgotten about it, and asking me at dinner wasn't romantic enough. Jack then figured he would spend all of Valentine's Day being romantic until I agreed to be his Valentine.

Jack wakes me up at 7:00 on the dot by throwing something at my window. I'd like to think it isn't pebbles, because that could be pretty bad, but if he's serious about the whole romantic thing, you never know what he's got up his sleeve. He's wearing a nice suit and holding the reddest rose I've ever seen.

I open the window, with a little difficulty. I'm still exhausted. "It would have been more romantic to let me sleep in, you know."

"I thought you were a morning person?" Jack calls out.

I was, actually. It was odd that I couldn't wake up as early as I used to. "That was before you showed up! Now I'm too tired to wake up early, because I stay up late trying to keep up with you."

Jack grins. He thinks everything is a joke. "Today's going to be even better then!"

After his romantic morning, he changed back into casual clothes. I was glad, because I don't want to spend hours getting ready. Instead I just wore a white shirt with a giant black heart on it and icy blue shorts. It was as close as I was ever going to get to dressing up for the holiday.

Anna, on the other hand, wore a cream quarter sleeved shirt with pink kiss marks and hearts all over, matched with a pink skirt and heels that weren't too high, but definitely not something I could spend my day in. She did her hair in a braided bun complete with pink, red, and white ribbons. It was really cute, and matched her girly attitude well.

Before I can get something for breakfast, Jack pulls me away. "I was thinking about Tre Bror for breakfast. They have special Valentine's scones today."

I smile. "Sounds perfect."

He drives us to Tre Bror. Outside, rain drizzles lightly, making the air smell wonderful. Rain on concrete is my favorite smell, next to hot cocoa, mint, and chocolate. There's a beautiful glow off the streets, which somehow makes the scene more romantic. I don't know, there's just something about it. We sit down at Tre Bror and order our breakfast. As usual, the place is almost empty, even though it's a special holiday. I don't know why, but Tre Bror is just not a popular breakfast place.

As we eat, we make light conversation about different things. I stare out the window half of the time, content with watching the rain and listening to Jack. He has the kind of voice that just makes you smile no matter what, and his stories are hilarious, though I can't believe half of them are true.

It's one of those mornings I wish I could live in forever. Sweet hot chocolate and a strawberry glazed scone, still warm, watching the soft rain decorate outside, Jack by my side telling stories to make me laugh. I think I can count this as one of the happiest mornings in my life. It's comfortable to be here; something I could do forever.

Jack ends one of his stories just as we finish breakfast. He checks his phone to see how the weathers going, and it says it should be sunny just after 3:00.
