After the talk about how important it was for us to know our future career pathway, I caught up to Kaleb ''Hey, um have you seen Diego anywhere?'' I asked him, ignoring the worry in the pit of my stomach.

''Haven't seen him after the sports meeting,'' He shook his head while I frowned. ''Weird that's not like him at all.'' We walked together in a comfortable silence just as Nevaeh ran up to me. ''It's Kenzie, hurry.'' We both followed Nevaeh onto the field.

As we got closer I made out Kenzie's figure, she was shouting at the group of girls in front of her. ''So what? What if I'm bisexual? Your gonna kick me out of the team because of that?'' I scoffed at the group of girls that stood in front of me, one of them was Dawn; the girl that had a crush on Kaleb.

''Yes, we can and we are.'' Dawn said as she looked my way. I heard footsteps behind me and turned around to see Diego and Kaleb, I sighed in relief seeing my best friend and moved to stand next to him. He gave me a side hug as we watched the scene play out.

''Personally I expected this from you Mackenzie, something was going to pull you out of the netball team yet I didn't expect it to be this.'' Another brunette girl said as she had an expression of uneasiness and disgust on her face. I glared at her.

''You guys are ridiculous, this whole group is filled with straight biased girls.'' Kenzie said as Dawn opened her mouth to speak but Kaleb beat her to it. ''Kenzie is still the same person she used to be but the only thing that has changed about her is that she came out and there's nothing wrong with that because you can't help who you fall in love with and it doesn't matter if they are a boy or a girl does it?'' Now Dawn was speechless not because of what he said but because of him.

''So what?'' The same brunette asked him.

''So what? What if I came out as gay or bisexual?'' He asked now Dawn was the one who answered. ''It would be totally hot.'' I resisted the urge to laugh and answered his question.

''It would be okay for everyone else because of who you are I mean you tick all the boxes Kaleb. Your practically royalty in school, check. You're good looking, check. You have a well-exposed family, check. So for everyone else it'll be fine because all in all your famous and rich but if someone else like Kenzie or I were to come out it'd be a crime because of who we are.'' Now it was Kaleb's turn to be speechless, I looked at him and shrugged as he continued to look at me. He slowly nodded his head and looked back at the netball team.

''I still don't want her on our team.'' One brunette with pink hair said. Kenzie and I sighed as Diego finally spoke. ''Well good for you seeing as Kenzie quit.'' He said as everyone looked at him.

''Let's go, Kenz and Eve.''

After a couple of hours and at the end of school we were now seated in the local diner by the name of 'Sunset bay' because the sunset was a very beautiful view over here. I sipped my chocolate milkshake and scrunched my nose as the taste of chocolate tingled my taste buds.

''You didn't have to do that for me Diego, I can fight my own battles and honestly I had that under control.'' And here I was sitting awkwardly because the siblings were fighting as Kaleb mouthed a 'What do we do?' and I mouthed back a 'Let them let it out.' as he nodded and we focused back on the two bickering siblings.

''No you didn't'' He replied back as Kenzie groaned. 'Yes, I did and I was going to put those girls in their place.'' I lay my head on Kenzie's shoulder as I saw a familiar face.

I sank down in my seat as Diego laughed at me and my position. ''Shut it D.'' I told him sharply as I tried to hide from the girl. ''Look who's here.'' I told him as he started looking around. ''Slowly you idiot.'' He turned around as the girl turned our way. ''Oh come on,'' I got up and sat straight as the girl made her way over to our table. ''Hello little cousin.''

''Hi,'' I said, simply wanting the conversation to end. ''How are my aunt and uncle doing?'' ''Good and how about you guys?'' I asked.

''We're good.'' She turned around and looked for someone. ''Hey Robby come here for a sec.'' A boy with green eyes and brunette hair came to our table. ''Robs, I'd like you to meet my cousin Evelyn, Evie, this is Bruce's best friend Robby.'' I nodded my head and smiled at Robby as I glanced between the two. ''Hi, Taylor's told me about you.'' He said. ''Can't say the same, neither of my cousins have told me about you.'' I said as he chuckled.

''Expected I guess.''

''Alright uh we're gonna head out.'' Taylor said as Robby followed her. ''That's her?'' The question came from Diego. ''Yeah, and Bruce is her brother who is my other cousin.'' ''I'm gonna go pay.'' I said and waited as Kenzie moved out of the way and I moved out of the booth and walked to the counter. ''Hey um how much does the total come up to?'' I asked the guy behind the counter. ''Uh sure,'' He turned around and gave me a quick smile. ''Card or cash?'' ''Cash.'' I answered as he nodded and showed me the price and I took out the amount.

I paid as he gave me some change and wished me a great night. ''You too.'' I said as I turned around and opened the door walking out towards Kaleb's car. It was a convertible and damn did it look good. He was leaning against the car and the two Martin siblings waved at me. ''All done?'' Diego asked as I nodded.

Kaleb opened the door as I slid in and chuckled as he bowed and walked towards the drivers side. He got in and started the engine as Diego and Kenzie started a conversation. ''So that Robby guy is cute, huh Eve?'' Kenzie asked as Diego looked at me through the rear view mirror of Kaleb's car. ''Yeah I guess, whatever floats your boat Kenz.'' I told her as my phone rang.

'Jacob.' The phone screen read as I answered the phone and placed it in my ear. ''Hello,''

''Hey, uh look I just wanted to say I know I'm not the easiest person to work with.''

''Understatement of the year but go ahead,'' I let out a small laugh as he continued talking. ''And I just wanted to say that I'm-'' I couldn't really hear him as the wind ran its fingers through my hair.

I pressed the phone against my ear trying to focus on what he was saying. ''Can you say that again?''

''Haha, I know you heard me the first time Prince,'' He said as I rolled my eyes at his words.

''No seriously, I actually didn't hear a word you said after ''to say that I'm-' '' I told him as I contemplated whether to put him on speaker or not. ''Hey, is it fine if I put you on speaker?'' I asked him as he 'hummed'.

''Depends on who your with.'' He said.

''Diego, Kenzie and Kaleb,'' I told him as he sighed and said yes not before making me swear not to tell them about his situation. ''It's not like I know much.'' I told him as I put him on speaker.

''So anyways, I just wanted to say thanks for trying with me and putting up with me because we all know I'm not the easiest person to work with but you- your not as bad as I thought.'' He paused. ''I told my brother about our plan and he's really excited to meet you.'' I smiled thinking about Jacob's little brother.

''Well I'm excited to meet him too, I just hope he's not like you.'' I joked as I heard him laugh on the other end but tried to cover it up with a cough.

''Alright uh, I'll send you the address closer to the date.''

''K, bye'' I said as I ended the call midway through his bye. 'Oops' I thought to myself and bit my lip to stop smiling. I shifted in my seat to see Kenzie's eye trained on me. ''Soooo, who was it?'' I shook my head at her antics.
