'Hey there, Juliet ;)'
'Slow down there, Romeo :P'
I replied to Kaleb's message as I heard my Dad greet someone and call my name. I groaned a little while getting up from the warm comfort of my bed. I was in my Winnie the Pooh pajamas matching with my Dad, it was sort of our father-daughter thing to do on the weekend. On Saturdays I'd spend the whole day with him and Friday afternoons with my Mum. Usually Kenzie and Alisha came over on Friday afternoons for a girls afternoon out and Diego and Mr. Martin spent Friday afternoons with my Dad.
I sluggishly walked down the stairs still missing the comfort of my bed as I greeted my guest Dawn before laying against the couch with a brown paper bag accompanying me. Inside was the black one that Kaleb had given to me the night at the Whitewood's fancy family event. The hoodie had his initials on it at the bottom rested in the middle; K.R.
It was a hoodie I'd seen him wear often at school and his basketball Jersey was something I had seen him wear once at his basketball game. 'Doesn't he have a game this week?' I heard Dawn clear her throat before tapping her feet against the floor.
I rolled my eyes and gave her my attention. "I know it's— – I'm sorry for interrupting your weekend Evelyn, I want to start over. I got jealous, I was trying to figure out my feelings towards Kaleb and I swear I didn't know you guys were dating." I let her rant without interrupting her and fixing her facts.
"I got a little way over my head and I've just been a mess, my friends are who I —- forget it, that's not why I'm here. Diego and I were talking and I was wondering if we could start over?" She asked as I watched her rock back and forth on her feet. I let out a chuckle and nodded. "Sure, just to fix your facts, Kaleb and I aren't dating." I told her as she looked at me in a way I couldn't understand.
"What?" I let out a small laugh as she shook her head and mumbled something about me being oblivious. "Do you like him?" I hesitantly nodded my head at the question before realizing that this was the girl who sort of liked him. "I get it, he's cute and I don't blame you." Dawn spoke as I watched her talk about Kaleb as if he were some idol or God himself.
"Your fangirling over him D," I said as she chuckled before looking at me seriously. "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry for everything; The way I spoke to you and Kenzie when we found out and just in general, everything's been so tough lately and I've been finding myself completely lost with only Diego being there for some reason." She said as I nodded. "Diego hasn't told me your uh situation but I know him well enough to know that after sharing a class with you and getting to know you, you're not who you pretend to be." I told her as she nodded.
"I want to start over with you, Kenzie, everybody and I want to be true to myself," I smiled at her words. "Friends?" We asked together as she nodded. "So, we have to get you ready," She said as I raised an eyebrow at her words. "You'll see." She said before dragging me upstairs.
"I'm guessing this isn't the time for me to sleep, is it?" I asked her jokingly as she walked straight into my room and marched into my wardrobe. I sat down on my bed and started wondering about how the hell we got here. "Not this, ew definitely not this...... this is decent," 'She's definitely judging my wardrobe.' I thought to myself as I heard her sigh before walking out with a dress in her hand. "This will do," She said as I gave her a 'seriously?' look. "Dawn, what's the occasion?" She handed me my phone as I read the unread message from Kaleb.
