Gryffindors aren't really fond of Slytherins, except when they're trading Chocolate Frog cards
READER'S POV

I was sitting in the common room, waiting for Angelina, Alicia, Lee, George, and Fred to come down so we could all go to breakfast together. Oliver Wood came over to me.

"Hiya, (Y/N), how's your first day been?" He greeted, leaning against the arm of the chair I was sitting on.

"Eventful." Was the word I decided upon as I put my hat on.

"Yeah, most first days are. Anyway, I couldn't help but see that you were hanging about with a Slytherin boy. Now, I'm all for House unity, but Slytherin are a nasty lot. They could tell Snape a twisted story about you and he'd take off fifty House points without blinking. I'd stay away from this Slytherin boy if I were you. You know, for your fellow Housemates." Oliver said, adjusting my hat on my head and giving me a friendly grin, then walking out of the portrait hole, leaving me speechless.

The nerve of him! A throbbing started in my shoulder blades. Oh Merlin, not now!

I was sat between the twins, Angelina, Lee, and Alicia sat across from us. Our second period today was our very first Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson, which we were all excited for. I reached out for a jug to refill, my drink, but pulled my hand back after it brushed with Fred's. Where my hand touched his now felt tingly. Weird.

"Sorry." I muttered as he grabbed the jug and filled his cup, then mine.

"Don't worry about it." He waved me off, shooting me a grin.

Our moment was cut short, however, by someone walking past us and whispering 'House traitor'. Fred spun around to look, getting ready to get up, but I grabbed his slightly tattered robes gently, not wanting to damage them more, and making him look at me.

"Don't worry about them," I advised, making him purse his lips and nod.

"I'm going to Madam Pomfrey, I'll see you in Transfiguration." I told the group, then pivoted myself around, getting off of the bench and walking out of the Hall, then jogging  the rest of the way to the Hospital Wing.

"Didn't I already give you your potion, little one?" Madam Pomfrey asked, looking over her copy of 'Witches & Wizards Weekly' at me.

"Yes, but the pain's started again." I explained, "It's not just the shoulder blades now, it's my whole upper back."

"Impossible! That was my strongest one yet!" She proclaimed, ushering me to sit on a bed.

"Can I examine your shoulder blades?" She asked, whipping out her wand.

"Yes," I gave my consent, then watched her swish her wand around, the tip emitting a purple glow, then place it in between my clothed shoulder blades.

I felt a wave of extreme cold shoot through my shoulder blades, making me cry out in surprise. She furrowed her brow after finishing the spell, the ice cold dying down, then did it again without warning.

"What's wrong?" I asked her, as she scuttled back over to her desk, and grabbed a
piece of parchment.

"Nothing to be overly concerned about. So, when do you feel these pains?" She asked, quill in hand.
