In this chapter, (Y/N) makes an unlikely friend and a new discovery
READER'S POVI woke up and yawned. I had no nightmares last night, due to a potion that Madam Pomfrey made me. I rolled off of the soft pillow that I used to support my shoulder blades, then sat up and hissed. The pain was getting worse by the day. Instead of a dull throbbing, it was now a sharp stabbing pain.
I pulled back my curtain and looked out of the window. The sun was just rising. I'd successfully slept through the night. I'd have to tell Molly that in the next letter I wrote. I slept in my Da's hut, due to an agreement made with Dumbledore. I quite liked my bedroom. It was cozy and small, just like the rest of the hut.
My bed was tucked in under my window, and my bedside table doubled as a desk – I had to bring a chair in from the kitchen to sit at my desk whilst doing schoolwork. I had my trunk sitting at the end of my bed, and in front of my trunk was a big armchair, big enough for Da. My bed had storage drawers, where I stored my toys and trinkets. Behind my door was a closet where my clothes were stored. I had a bookshelf adjacent to my bed, where books from my childhood sat. I had meant to put my schoolbooks there, but I had forgotten. I'd make sure to do it tonight, though.
I stretched, and got out of bed, wincing as my bare feet hit the cold wooden floorboards. I walked out of my bedroom and to the kitchen. Da was making some tea.
"Mornin' Da." I greeted.
"Mornin'." Da replied, "Still have your tea the same way?"
I nodded rapidly.
"Yer slippers are by the door." Da said in his gruff voice.
"Thanks, Da." I made my way over to the slippers, making sure to step on the multiple mismatched rugs we had strewn throughout the hut.
I slid the slippers on with a contented hum, and walked over to the kitchen, standing there awkwardly, and picking at my hands because I didn't know what to do with them. Da grabbed me and pulled me into a one armed hug. He gave me my mug, then we sat at the table.
"So," Da began as I took the first sip of my tea, humming in content, "Yer shoulder blades been hurtin any more?"
I nodded, "The pain's worse today than it was yesterday."
"I'll take yeh to Madam Pomfrey after we finish our tea." Da stated, patting my shoulder.
"Sounds like a plan." I said with a grin.
"Was stayin' at Molly's alrigh'?" Da asked as he dug through his pockets.
He pulled out some dog treats, and gave them to Fang who was sitting in front of the fire.
"Yeah. The food was lovely. I even got to cook a few meals – with Molly's supervision, of course. I slept in Ginny's room, and it was fun having other kids around. They have an apple orchard near their house where they fly their brooms, but you have to fly low or the Muggles'll see yeh. I got to degnome her garden, which, by the way, isn't very bloody fun. How in blazes do those little hobgoblins know all those swears?" I replied.
Da chuckled, "I wouldn' be surprised if the buggers were born knowin' em, lass."
"Go an' shower an' get ready for the day, then we'll go." He said, then I nodded.
I walked back up to my room, and got out my clothes. I pulled my towel off of the rack behind my door, and made my way towards the bathroom. I had a shower and brushed my teeth, then detangled my hair and walked back to my room, where I hung my towel up and looked at my timetable.
