I woke up the next morning feeling dazed by everything that had happened. Voices were in the next room and I knew one of the voices belonged to Gabriel. The other three I didn't know. They sounded faintly familiar, though.
I got up and rummaged through my mom's old closest. I pulled out a yellow pastel dress and slipped it on. It flared out at the bottom and hugged my breasts, giving cleavage that didn't belong to me. I slipped on my shoes, put my hair in a braid and walked out the bedroom door.
I popped my head in the room Gabriel was in and gawked at the sight of him shirt-less. He gawked at me as well.
One of the men cleared his throat and glanced at me. "Gabriel, don't get distracted."
Gabriel tore his gaze from me and shook his hair out of his eyes. "Continue."
The man kept talking and I noticed Gabriel stealing glances at me. I tried to ignore him but... I decided to go outside.
"Where are you going?" Gabriel said without looking at me.
"Outside." I paused. "I'll probably go swimming."
"Okay. Don't get lost." He added. It earned him flip of my favorite finger. Two of the men looked on the edge of laughing. The third looked dead serious. He also just looked dead but I guess that didn't matter.
I left the room quickly and strolled outside. I walked down the path to the docks and came across something.
A gemstone on a necklace. It resembled a moonstone.
I picked it up and felt a odd amount of pure energy coming from it. It glowed and shimmered in the sun and I decide to keep it. I would tell Gabriel that my mother had left it for me to have. He would probably believe me.
I put the stone in my pocket and kept walking to the docks. The steps were those of no worry and no care. Even though I had so much I could be worrying about, I chose to worry about my family and what had happened to them.
As I thought, I could picture what they would be doing right now.
They sat around the dinner table wondering when I would be back, then they call the police. They can't find me and give up hope. Yeah, right.
I got to the end of the dock and sat on the edge, with my legs swinging off the end. My thought strayed to Gabriel and his broad, sculpted... STOP ARIANA.
I pulled myself away from those inappropriate thoughts and decide to go back in and get something to eat. I walked back in the house and was stopped at he door by Gabriel. He had those three men behind him.
"Why are you blocking the way in, you idiot?" I asked him.
"Have to make sure it's you. Sorry." He replied.
His energy spread, circling me and looking for the same energy as the white room.
"She's good. It's her."
"Naw dip, Sherlock."
"Be civilized in front of our guests."
"Fine."
"Alright."
After a few moments, I asked, "That means no swearing, right?"
He sighed. "Pay attention."
One of the men spoke. "Wow, she is feisty." He paused. "Now I know why you chose her."
"Silence Time. We are not here to chit-chat."
"Be nice, Death."
"Both of you shut it." The last one said.
"Alright, Destiny." The two said in unison. They turned to sulk.
"Anyway... hello, Ariana. We are the three Fates . Death, Time, and I am Destiny. We came see you because we have absolutely no knowledge of you what-so-ever."
"Meaning?" I asked, thinking I knew the answer already.
"Meaning, we don't know who you are, what you are, or why you're on this planet. Although, you have shown some characteristics of the angels."
"That's bad right?"
"Could be. You never know." Time shrugged his shoulders and winked at me.
I'm screwed, I thought.
