My days had become anything but ordinary since my encounter with Kathyln. She would visit me every day while I trained, bringing along a basket of snacks. The practice had started when we were not even ten years old, and I couldn't help but wonder why it was still happening.

However, rumors began spreading among the servants and knights about the nature of our relationship. Despite this, Kathyln didn't seem to mind. She had changed a lot since then, and I had noticed a kinder, gentler side of her that she only showed to me. She was still blunt and cold towards others, especially her brother, but she treated me with a warmth that I couldn't help but appreciate.

One day, after another one of our classic double teases, Curtis joked about how we were like a couple. I took it in stride, but I could see Kathyln turn beet red at his comment.

This confirmed what I had suspected all along: she had feelings for me. But did I have feelings for her? That was the question that kept me up at night.

I couldn't deny that her recent blushing face had been on my mind a lot. Her cute, pale face that turned red in an instant was hard to forget. But I knew I had to push those thoughts aside. I was older than her, mentally, and I already had Cordelia.

I sighed as I tried to clear my mind and fell asleep. It was best to keep things the way they were and not complicate our friendship.

As a young noble with a status that rivalled that of highborns, I had to attend the Grand Ball. I had just turned 10 years old and had grown over 5 feet tall, which was quite an achievement for someone my age. Master had given me new clothes, typical of high nobility, which I was accustomed to from my previous life. I wore a white shirt with a small black suit on top and applied some gel to my hair before stepping out of my room.

To my surprise, Curtis and Master were standing right outside. We had become quite casual with each other over the past year and had dropped the honorifics. I asked Curtis, "Are the King and Queen attending?" Although, in reality, I wanted to ask about Kathyln, I knew both Curtis and Master would tease me endlessly if I did.

Curtis replied, "Father and mother are too ill to attend. Also," he leaned in closer and whispered, "my little sister was very excited when she was getting ready for this event. I wonder why?"

I took a step back, seeing the sly grin on his face. Curtis had changed from being a hot-blooded warrior to becoming more cunning from teasing Kathyln and me with Master.

Master asked me with a slightly serious tone, "What took you so long?" I couldn't help but smile and replied, "It takes time to look good."

Their faces lost their happy expressions as they couldn't think of a comeback for my truthful yet painful statement. Master motioned for me to follow them to pick up Kathyln.

When I saw Kathyln, my breath caught in my throat. She was wearing the same pure white dress with white and blue jewels etched into it that she had worn when we first met. Her black hair flowed freely, and she even had a diamond tiara on her small head. She looked more stunning than ever. She smiled when she saw me and picked up her dress before hurrying towards me.

She asked with pride and a hint of embarrassment, visible from her slightly red neck, "So, how do I look?" She even spun around to give me a better look. Filled with emotion, I replied, "You look extremely beautiful, like the midnight sky itself!" Her face turned red from embarrassment, and she pouted. I asked her, "Well, how do I look?"

Unlike previous events, I was determined to impress Jude and willingly woke up before the maids entered my room. I instructed them to dress me as best as possible, surprising them with my request. I felt embarrassed, but I knew it was worth it for Jude.
