Stepping through the portal into the final Relictomb, a surge of anticipation and determination surged through my veins. I was alone, but not for long. The trials that awaited me in this sacred place were not to be taken lightly, and time was of the essence.
Activating my All-Seeing Eyes, the world around me shifted into a kaleidoscope of mana and aether. The intricate network of purple motes revealed itself, forming a complex tapestry that interconnected the Relictomb's very foundation.
Harnessing the power of my Half-Fusion stage core, I extended my hand towards the pulsating core of aether. A clash of wills ensued, as my influence clashed against the formidable presence of the Relictomb's creator.
I pushed harder, delving deeper into the aetheric fabric. The Relictomb quivered, surrendering to my indomitable will. The creator's influence crumbled in the face of my absolute command.
As the Relictomb yielded to my power, the surroundings shifted and twisted, responding to my manipulation of space itself. The entire location transformed, molded by my mastery over the aether.
A sense of awe washed over me as I unraveled the intricate threads that held this place together. The complexity and ingenuity of the Relictomb's design became apparent, a testament to the brilliance of its creator. I marveled at the grandeur of it all, even as I asserted my dominance over its every facet.
The blank white canvas swirled around us as I allowed myself to be drawn towards the enigmatic presence of the djinn's projection.
"Remarkable," the djinn remarked, his voice filled with a mix of awe and surprise. "Your mastery over aether... It rivals that of our King."
The djinn's appearance held a sense of otherworldly beauty. His skin bore a subtle lavender hue, adorned with intricate spellforms that adorned every inch of his body except his face. His bald head showcased a cascade of white hair that flowed down to his shoulders, further highlighting his regal countenance.
"The Relictombs, as you call them, embody the collective knowledge of our civilization in both mana and aether," he explained. "They serve as living repositories, multidimensional encyclopedias that contain the sum of our insights. Every aspect we have come to understand is contained within their chapters, offering profound insight into the realms of aether. They were not intended as mere tests, but rather as a means to impart understanding and wisdom in the art of manipulating aether. However, you, with your immense power and pursuit of the final edict, the edict of Fate, were able to bypass these chapters. Yet, it was never required to master them to attain the power of Fate, as it eludes the grasp of conventional learning. It is granted only through the final keystone. Did you predict this, or was it mere luck?"
I pondered his words, realizing the true purpose behind the Relictombs. "For a civilization of pacifists, the djinn have protected their creation with considerable force," I pointed out. "If these Relictombs are meant to be repositories of knowledge, why the presence of such treacherous creatures within?"
The djinn's gaze turned downwards, his expression clouded with a mixture of emotions. "Much of the Relictombs were constructed during the decline of our civilization," he revealed. "There was a darkness that emerged from the depths of our collective subconscious as we sought to safeguard this, our greatest and final endeavor. As djinn, we could navigate through this darkness unscathed, knowing that whoever eventually unlocked our knowledge would possess the means to overcome these obstacles or possess the strength to bypass the protective measures."
"But your people..." I trailed off, uncertain of the extent of these programmed memories' awareness.
"They are gone," he replied, his voice filled with a profound sadness rather than anger. His jaw clenched momentarily, and he turned away, collecting himself. When he met my gaze again, there was a deep longing in his eyes. "The dragons could not—would not—comprehend. They sought to eradicate us, to obliterate our civilization from the face of this world. Yet, here stands a powerful descendant of the djinn, a testament to their failure."
