The two guys had been at college for a few weeks now and were beginning to find their feet. They were getting used to the workload and managing their timetables well enough. There were days where one, or both of them, were stressed out, but they seemed to help each other out where they could.

Both had only had the odd, weird incident thinking about the other inappropriately, and both had convinced themselves that it was nothing - just the lack of their girlfriends.

Gerard had finally gotten around to calling Lindsey, and although their conversations weren't quite as gushy as Frank's and Jamia's, it was fine.

Was 'fine' enough though? Gerard found himself thinking. Was 'fine' even worth the effort for a long-distance relationship? He pushed the thought to the back of his head. He was sure that when they got chance to meet up everything would be ok.

Frank Skyped or called Jamia every day and they never seemed to run out of conversation. Gerard was a little jealous if he was honest. He and Lindsey just seemed to go through the motions of catching up on their calls, and if he was being truthful, she rarely crossed his mind during the days at all.

"Hey" Frank called over, snapping Gerard out of his thoughts.

"Yeah?"

"So" Frank began. "This guy in my class is having a party tomorrow night and asked if we wanted to go along."

"We?" Gerard queried. "He doesn't even know me."

"You don't need a fucking formal invite Gee" Frank laughed, making Gerard smile at the name he'd taken it upon himself to call him.

"I thought you weren't sociable" Gerard replied with a raised eyebrow.

"Well, I'm not, but I like beer, and music, and parties" Frank chuckled. "So, what do you say?"

"I don't know Frank" Gerard pulled a face. "I don't know anyone, and I really am not fucking social at all."

"Oh come on Gee, please. For me?" Frank pleaded with his fucking puppy dog eyes.

Gerard just shook his head. "I'll think about it."

"Yesss" Frank whooped.

Gerard laughed and went back to his work.

They later sat and watched a movie and talked about their day before Gerard felt Frank slump against him. He looked down and found him fast asleep against his shoulder. He smiled and gently manoeuvred him into a lying down position. He pulled the covers over him and 'tucked him in.'

Gerard made his way over to Frank's bed and settled in for the night. The bed smelled of Frank's shampoo and the redhead found it strangely comforting as his eyes grew heavy and he too fell asleep.

The following morning, Frank woke and was confused at first. He looked around and saw Gerard drooling on his pillow. 'Fucking gross!' He thought. But he did also look quite cute.

After class, both lazed around in their dorm for a while before Frank asked again about the party.

Gerard found it hard to say no to him, but he really wasn't a party person, so was fucking dreading it.

Still, he found himself agreeing and was currently stood in front of the bathroom mirror smudging eyeliner around his eyes and fucking with his hair. He pulled on his black skinnies and some band t-shirt and internally gave himself a talking to:

'Come on Gerard. Don't be a fucking pussy. Just try and have a good time.'

When he returned to his room Frank was sat cross legged on his bed strumming his guitar. He looked good and had clearly also made more of an effort than usual. He wore ripped faded jeans and a plain shirt with the sleeves rolled up to show off his tattoos. He had ruffled his hair just so and his face was freshly shaved. He looked about fourteen!

"Wow! Fuck!" Frank exclaimed when he looked up at Gerard.

He didn't mean for those words to slip out, but his friend looked really good.

"What?" Gerard asked, panicking at Frank's reaction.

"Nothing Gee" Frank laughed. "You look really good that's all."

"Oh" Gerard swallowed. "Thanks. You too."

They headed off to where Frank had been told the party was and both made their way inside. The music was booming and the bass hammered into their chests.

"Frank!" a voice came from behind them.

"Oh hey Ray!" Frank replied with a big smile.

"Glad you could come dude. Who's this?"

"Oh this is my roommate Gerard" Frank smiled towards Gerard.

Ray held out his hand and shook Gerard's. "Nice to meet you man. You guys help yourself to drink and whatever other shit you fancy."

With that Ray waltzed off and Frank and Gerard headed off to the kitchen to find beer.

Gerard wasn't feeling comfortable at all, and practically stuck to Frank's side. He downed too many beers in the hope of relaxing.

He did relax somewhat, and a couple of hours later (with the help of more beer and a joint) was feeling much calmer and even beginning to have a good time. He'd even talked to a few people other than Frank, which he was really proud of himself for.

He sat in the corner of the room and just people watched for a while. There were girls dancing and laughing in the middle of the room, couples were draped all over each other practically eating each other's faces, and several guys were having some kind of drinking competition.

Frank was talking to Ray and a couple of other guys from his class but kept checking on Gerard, which he though was sweet of him.

"I'm fine Frank" Gerard slurred. "I'm happy sitting here sipping on my beer. You go talk. Honestly I'm good."

Frank left him to it but kept an eye on him, knowing he'd drank much more than he probably should have.

It was a little later when Frank again looked over at Gerard that he spotted him talking to a blond girl. He didn't think anything of it until she suddenly straddled his friend's lap.

Gerard was taken by surprise when the girl he'd been innocently talking to suddenly started flirting with him. Still, he quite liked it. Suddenly she was sat astride him with her hands wrapped around his neck.

"Has anyone ever told you that you're hot as fuck?" she whispered into his ear.

"Not recently" Gerard laughed a little.

She licked her lips and leaned towards him.

"No" Gerard protested. "I have a girlfriend. I can't do this."

"Oh. Where is she?" the girl asked with a glint in her eye.

"She's back home. She doesn't come here."

"Well, she's fucking stupid then. 'Cos I wouldn't let you out of my sight babe" she smiled holding his gaze.

She knew she had won. Gerard was too drunk not to be taken in by her compliments.

He slid his hands up her thighs and she leaned down to kiss him. She hungrily forced her tongue into his mouth, and he willingly accepted. They made out for a long while before Gerard began to feel a bit woozy. He knew he would have to get away soon, otherwise this girl would end up with vomit all down her.

Across the room, Frank watched on. His heart sank a little at the sight of his friend sucking face with this random girl. He knew it was a fucking party and practically everyone here was doing the same thing, but he was disappointed in Gerard.

'What about Lindsey?' he thought to himself.

While the other little voice in his head (that he desperately didn't want to listen to), was asking: 'What about me?'
