Frank was up and out before it was even light the following morning. He sat sipping coffee in Starbucks and tried to get his head around the night before.
God, he felt so guilty. Jamia had barely left, and he was fucking throwing himself at Gerard. He scrubbed at his face with his hands to try and rub away the memory. He couldn't deny he had enjoyed it though. Jesus, the feel of Gerard's mouth on his was like nothing he'd ever experienced before. He'd kissed a few guys back when he was younger, but nothing compared to kissing his roommate. He was so turned on by the recollection and that just made him feel even more guilty.
He had scurried away quickly this morning. He was certain that Gerard would regret the whole thing, and possibly even be disgusted by it. He would avoid him as much as possible for the next day or two and hopefully it would all just be forgotten.
Gerard recollected the events of the previous night before he even opened his eyes. He nervously opened them and looked over to Frank's bed, frowning when he found it empty.
'Fucking great Gerard' he said out loud to himself.'Frank probably fucking hates you now.'
He threw his legs out of bed and quickly dressed, deciding to head off to class early and hopefully avoid Frank by doing so.
The two tried to get on with their day without too much thought of the other.
Frank felt particularly guilty and text Jamia several times checking she got home ok and telling her he couldn't wait to see her again. He wasn't sure who he was trying to convince.
Gerard called his parents and arranged to go home for the weekend. He missed them, but particularly Mikey, and he didn't want to get into the habit of not seeing them for months on end. Also, Lindsey had been on at him asking when he would be back to visit. He decided that he would just see how it was with Lindsey at the weekend, and if he wasn't feeling it with her, would break things off. Deep down he knew it was right for both of them.
When he returned to his dorm later that night, Frank was already asleep in bed. He was so relieved. He quietly changed and got into his own bed, texting Mikey for a little while before settling down for the night.
The following day was much the same, with Frank disappearing before Gerard had even woken. It was ridiculous really, they both knew that, but it suited for now.
Gerard was back a little earlier that night and found Frank sat at his desk doing some work when he entered their room.
"Oh hey" Gerard said quietly.
Frank turned and nervously scratched the back of his neck.
"Hi" he replied. "Just made coffee if you want one."
"Thanks" Gerard replied before heading over to pour a cup.
Frank couldn't help but look over at Gerard as he made up his drink. God, he looked so good. He had missed him terribly, even though they had still been sleeping in the same room and it had barely been two days since they spoke. He missed Gerard's quirky little ways; the funny way he held his mouth, the way he shuffled around on his feet and the sound of his voice.
Fuck! He was like a teenage girl. He scolded himself internally and turned back to his work.
They had a few stilted conversations that evening, both feeling awkward and uncomfortable.
Gerard told Frank he would be going home at the weekend and Frank looked a little sad at that.
"Oh. That will be nice for you" he replied. "I miss home. I'm going to have to head back soon too."
