CHAPTER 28

I WAS awakened by the appetizing smell of food. I turned to face my sister and hug her but there was only a pillow in my side. Kahit na mahapdi pa ang aking mga mata at kailangan pa ng tulog ay pinilit kong bumangon. Oh God, it's still early. Where's Olivia? What time is it?

I checked the time in my phone and I was surprised to see that it's already quarter to eight. Bumangon ako at hinawi ang kurtina. It's still dark outside and storm is still raging. I've noticed a lot of plants and flowers destroyed in the garden. And after I worked so hard to grow them!

Nag-inat-inat muna ako saglit bago nagdesisyong bumaba. I grabbed my white cardigan and wore it while taking the stairs. I went straight to the kitchen where I can the smell some good food. I saw Kali, yawning. It seems that he just woke up too. I greeted him but he didn't greet me back. I knew he's been upset with me. He's didn't even spare a time for a small talk let alone a phone call. Ganyang-ganyan talaga siya kapag masama ang loob. What a handful jerk.

Sabay kaming nagtungo sa kitchen. I am certain that I would find Olivia there since she's really a good cook. She's also fond and fascinated of everything about the kitchen. She likes to cook a lot and she always prepare our breakfast that's why she's always been an early bird. Pero ang tagpong ito ang hindi ko inaasahan...

Lucas right hand is gripping Olivia's arms so tight while his other hand is on her waist. They are staring at each other so deeply like they're in a trance.

Kali gritted his teeth while I averted my eyes and sighed in disbelief. Saglit akong pumikit at tinibayan ang loob. I cleared my throat audibly. Saglit na natigilan ang dalawa saka binitawan ang isa't isa. Bumagsak ang tingin sa akin ni Lucas and it became a death glare when he saw Kali beside me.

"Ate, 'wag ka po sanang mag-over think. Niligtas lang ako ng fiance mo dahil muntik na akong madulas." Hindi ko napansin ang mabilis na paglapit sa akin ni Olivia at ang paghawak niya ng kamay ko. Pinilit kong ngumiti sa kanya. It's okay, Loraine. It's just an accident. I tried to calm myself.

"It's okay. Are you alright?" Sa halip ay tanong ko. She just nodded. I returned a glare to Lucas but he's back to his cold self again. "Let's have breakfast? What did you make?" I deliberately changed the atmosphere. Ngumiti lang ng kimi ang kapatid ko saka pinakita sa akin ang kanyang mga niluto. I helped her prepare the breakfast while the guys wait at the table.

I can feel the awkwardness at every corner of the dining area. However, I tried to just ignore it and finish my food quickly.

"Claudia." I heard this monotonous tone of Lucas calling me. I casually turned to him and raised my eyebrow when I realized that we're alone here in the living room.

Kali and Olivia are in the kitchen, taking care of the dishes. Ate Teresa and Manang can't come here because of the typhoon since they're area is separated from the mansion. I also forbid them to go out because it's too risky. I don't want them to get sick. Lalo na si Manang dahil may katandaan na siya.

"What was that scene I saw in the kitchen?" Pilit kong inalis ang ekspresyon sa aking mukha. Nangunot naman ang noo niya.

"It was nothing. You're clumsy sister almost tripped so I lend her a hand." Kunot noo niyang sabi. I sighed and looked away. I know that already, but still...

"Thankyou," labas sa nguso kong pagpapasalamat. Mas lalo naman siyang nagsalubong ang kilay niya.

"I'm the one who's supposed to feel jealous here. What were you doing together with that ass-face?" He asked. I was almost sure that he's pertaining to Kali.
