What Is To Be Done

It's the last day for the first years and some went onwards giving their goodbyes while others still wanted to go for another outing. Meanwhile, Kageyama and Shouyou headed off into the nearest convenience store, buying a paper bag full of meat buns; later proceeding to a nearby park before they go back to their city.

"Kageyama look!!" Hinata points out, "This park has its own ice cream store, ah~ it must be nice~"

The king looks at him strangely and says, "Don't tell me you still wanna bu--"

"I DO."He dosn't hesitate to answer but even if this orange kid wants it, he doesn't have sufficient money.

The two talked a lot about college and how it was different from their times at Karasuno. Living in the city was hard, harder when you're classified under the Omega section. Alphas have it slightly just as hard, because they have to live up to their blood, being better at everything and being always higher---a set of steps ahead from everyone. Compared to their old lifestyle back in the town, they could just rest easy, plus, they don't have to worry much about classifications since there aren't that many cases of discriminations..And if it's about volleyball the topic has shifted to, they'd take hours before they could realize it was already night. Luckily, Kageyama remembered the time for the last train going back and the two get to be cozy without needing an excuse due the fact that the train was packed.

Out of nowhere, Hinata speaks silently, loud enough for only Kageyama to hear, "You know...I hate separations. I hate them a lot. I wish I could have seen Suga-san and the others again. Tanaka-senpai....Noya-san...those two that I'd barely ever forget," he chuckles.

"What, you still can, dumbass." The taller man says as-a-matter-of-factly.

"....hahaha...yeah.."

There was a strand of silence until his highness thought about it and spoke, "What brought that to your mind?"

"Oh nothing really..." Hinata nervously smiles. "By the way, I'm glad you gave me my medicine earlier before leaving the resort. 'Cause if I didn't I might go crazy right now with you cornering me."

Blushing, Kageyama hides his face with the back of his hand, "Sh-shut up....dumbass." Suddenly, a woman's voice is amplified by the speakers, telling the people onboard that they have arrived safely. With a sigh of relief he turns to the smaller guy.  "Heh....I guess we talked so much we didn't realize w---Hinata?" Shouyou slumped when he tried to move. He calls out his name but there was no response. Only when he called again but there was still nothing, did he realize that his lover had lost his consciousness. And before he could yell for help, as if right on cue, Tsukishima came out from the crowds, panting while having a phone to his ear.

"...It's Hinata. I'll get him to you by tomorrow morning. We'll have him calm down first. Bye." He says before kneeling down and closing his phone. "Just as I predicted..."

"W-what..you know what's happening to him...?" Kageyama uneasily asked.

"He's collapsed because the illness has already gotten to him. His body can't take much more." Tsukishima replies. Before Kageyama could ask any further, the blondie took lead, "I'll explain when we get to a hospital. There's no time to waste." He carries Hinata's seemingly lifeless body on his back and jogs to the exit. "The car's waiting outside. Stop being useless and be what you are, an Alpha."

The last statement had struck Kageyama head-on with full force. He was quiet during the ride. When they arrived at the hospital, Hinata was immediately moved to a special room meanwhile in the waiting area...

"Hey. I heard you say something on the phone." Tobio clenched his fists. "'I'll get him to you by tomorrow morning,' what's that supposed to mean?!"

A few seconds passed by before Kei talked to him, "Don't act so protective now. Why can't you just be grateful I'm doing this for free?"

"I'm asking you...a question......" His teeth grinded against each other.

Tsukishima clicked his tongue and walked to the door. "Your persistency is stupid. You haven't figured it out, have you? I'm taking Hinata back to America with me and. Don't. You dare try and stop me. It's for his own good." Without revealing any more information, he leaves Kageyama alone in the room, shutting the door behind him.

.......The next morning...

"Kageyama...will we still meet again?!" Hinata cries. "I hate separations you know?! Say it!!! Say we'll meet again!!!!" He sobs and often, let's his nose run.

"DUMBASS! OF COURSE WE WILL! I'M JUST GOING TO BOARD A DIFFERENT PLANE!!!" Kageyama shouts from meters away, annoyed.

"WHAT?! WHY'D YOU BOA---" He wasn't able to finish his sentence because Kei had dragged him inside, saying that it'll take off in a matter of seconds. "Ughhhhhhh....ghhhhhhh...gggggggg..." Shouyou groans, looking at Tsukishima like a kid who had gotten scolded by his mom.

"What are you looking at?" He says, a little bit weirded out. Hinata doesn't give an answer in words, he just kept on groaning. Tsukishima sighs, "Haa....how'd I fall rock hard for someone like you..?"

"That's be---WHAT?!"

"I'm going to sleep, goodnight~"

"NO, IT'S WRONG. IT'S MORNING. HEY. HEY! HEY TSUKISHIMA! HEYYY!!!!"

In the other plane, Kageyama is accompanied by Yamaguchi who had just recently came back to Japan. "That wretched blondie...I'm gonna make him feel my wrath when I get down here. I oughtta teach him a lesson he'll never forget. Who's dumb enough to settle airplane seat numbers on rock, paper, scissors?! Huhhhh?!"

"S-sorry about Tsukki. He isn't always that pushy." Yamaguchi says, a Beta by the way, trying to apologize for his friend's behaviour. Kageyama groans in response. "You know, he's really kind. He's paying for everything right now. The operation is expensive too."

"...How'd he know about the illness? And why did he come here?"

"Eh? You didn't know? Tsukki came back to japan because he heard of Shouyou's illness getting worse. As for the knowledge, he keeps an eye on him through a messenger, I think? Even I don't know who it is...."

"Wait, wait, wait. Hinata's illness is...worsening...?"

"Tsukki explained it to me a little...You know how Shouyou has an irregular cycle...and that there's a special medicine for it but not enough to shorten the period..right? It's a rare 'illness', occurring in 0.1 out of 100 people of the Omega kind. A type of heat cycle that shows up randomly whether you like it or not.....is very dangerous for his young weak body. It's not obvious but it affects the whole systems, it's got harmful effects. Doctors around the world have been doing research and they have developed a special medical operation," Yamaguchi takes a deep breath. "...but it's risky. If Hinata won't take the chance, he'll either die from the sickness or the operation or live from the operation."

"You know...I hate separations. I hate them a lot. I wish I could have seen Suga-san and the others again. Tanaka-senpai....Noya-san...those two that I'd barely ever forget."

"What, you still can, dumbass."

"....hahaha...yeah.."

I didn't know....I didn't know......and yet...I was the one closest to him...I didn't realize...he was already having a hard time...he was already having an illness that costs his life.....

........Hours later

"WE'RE FINALLY HERE..!!" Kageyama exclaims. He spots a car on the grounds that looks exactly like the one they used at Japan. "Hey, is that---"

"People here think Tsukki's an Alpha hahaha, it great isn't it? They treat him really special and prized." Yamaguchi explains. "So much, they give him anything he wants."

"Shit..!! Ambulance!!!" They hear a familiar voice scream. "AMBULANCE!!!!!!" It was Tsukishima in a far off distance, just right at the door of the plane, holding Hinata.

He had collapsed again and he completely blacked out.
