EMMA WATCHED AS John B and JJ were carrying the keg they got ahold of to the beach. The Boneyard was on the The Cut, even though it was Pouge territory that never stopped anyone else from coming down once they caught a whiff of a party being held. Emma couldn't say she hated that Kooks showed up to parties hosted by them because they brought expensive alcohol, a benefit she was all good for, even though she had to deal with snobby rich kids.

As of now it was only the crew, they were sharing a blunt and drinking beers, except Pope of course, who didn't drink or smoke, not often that is. They laughed amongst themselves, these were the times Emma enjoyed the most, just her and her closest friends she had in the world. With them by her side she could never really be in a bad mood, they lifted her spirits even when she thought that her happiness had been tied to a cinder block and sunken in the bottom of the ocean.

JJ sat down next to the girl, slinging an arm around her then holding out a red solo cup full of beer to her. "So, what's the plan?" He asked her, looking over at her.

Emma took a swig of the beer in her hand before facing JJ. "Plan for what?" She questioned.

"Picking up chicks, obviously." JJ said to her as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

Emma laughed quietly. "Seriously, J?"

"Yes, seriously, Em. C'mon, you need to get your mind off that stuck up rich bitch-"

"She's not even like that." Emma cut him off the moment he decided to call Sarah a bitch. "She's a good person."

"Not in my book." JJ shook his head. "Good people don't tear apart my girl because they aren't ready to be in a relationship. She hurt you, Em." JJ looked away, down at his feet, thinking of the night Emma had shown up at his home, a mess of tears and bloody knuckles that he had to hold together. "I can't see you go through that shit again. My heart broke seeing you in the state you were in after she just dropped you like some toy she got tired of playing with. She is a bitch, and I'm not gonna sit here and pretend like she isn't just because you think it's okay to be treated like shit."

"JJ, I'm sorry." Emma rolled her eyes and put a finger under the boy's chin, facing him toward her. "Look, I know, okay? And, yeah sure- Sarah Cameron is a total bitch for breaking my heart but she's still a good person with a good heart. She wasn't ready-"

"Are you seriously making excuses for her right now?" JJ scoffed. "Forget it, Em. This whole conversation is bullshit. All I wanted to know was if you were going to try and actually have a good time but I got my answer now." He removed his arm from her shoulders, wrapping both hands around his cup, he looked out at the water, feeling her staring at the back of his head.

THE SUN WAS setting and The boneyard was now crowded with teenagers, Emma weaved through sweaty, dancing bodies to get out to the water. She could barely walk in a straight line, THC and alcohol numbing her senses as she walked into the water ankle deep to watch the sunset. One thing Emma knew she would always love were sunsets, the way the once light blue sky melted into different hues of pinks, oranges and reds that swirled together beautifully, then revealing the dark night sky with it's twinkling stars that mesmerized her almost every night. "It's really pretty, isn't it?"

The voice startled her, Emma looked to her right, a girl, a bit shorter than her with curly, black hair and dark brown eyes that you could easily get lost in, stood behind her. "Sorry, what?"

The girl chuckled lightly. "My bad, didn't mean to scare you, just I saw you out here and I thought I'd come talk to you." The girl outstretched her hand. "Ivy. Nice to meet you."
