Kate grunted as she was awoken by someone jumping onto her.

Lucas kissed her cheek, "happy birthday mama!"

She laughed, sitting up to hug him as he handed her flowers and a small box. "Aww! Thank you!" She watched him sit next to her as she saw Chris leaning on the doorframe of the room. She opened the box to find a necklace with a heart locket with her initials engraved on the front; KES. "It's beautiful." She opened it to find a picture of Paul and Lucas on one side and Chris and Lucas on the other. She looked up at Chris.

He shrugged, "Lucas picked the pictures and the necklace."

She nodded, looking back at Lucas, "thank you bud. I love you." She wrapped him in another hug.

"I love you too mama."

Chris came into the room, "okay. Go get dressed and eat your breakfast. I'll be down in a few minutes." He saw Lucas nod and leave the room, shutting the door behind him. He sat on the bed next to her, "you like it?" He placed his arms around her, clasping the necklace around her neck.

"It's perfect, thank you." She leaned towards him, pulling his lips to hers, "I love you."

He moaned, laying her back as he crawled under the blanket with her wrapping her legs around him. He kissed her neck, hearing her moan. "I love you Kate."

He turned back to her from the door, "I love you too. I'll be right back."

Kate woke up to Chris slipping back into bed with her. She moaned as he pulled her to his chest.

"My mom is having the grandchildren over tonight and asked if Lucas wants to sleep over too."

Kate looked up at him, "really?"

He shrugged, "yeah. Of course." He rolled over, pinning her under him, "you're apart of this family now. She wants Lucas to feel included too. Is it okay?"

She nodded, "as long as he wants to. And as long as he knows if he changes his mind at any time, we'll come get him."

"Of course." He ran his hand up her shirt, "now how long do I have you for?"

She giggled, looking at the time, "I can stay in bed for another hour."

"An hour! That's plenty of time. What are we going to do with the other 50 minutes?" He smiled as he heard her laugh before pressing his lips to hers. He pulled on her shirt, removing it along with her bra. He removed his own shirt before he grabbed her arms, placing them around his neck.

She placed her hands in his hand as she felt him trailing kisses down her chin. She threw her head back as they trailed down her neck to her chest. He pulled her to his chest, "so we've discussed the baby thing. Where are we in terms of getting married."

She sat up to look at him, "you want to get married?"

He nodded, "don't you?"

She shrugged, "I don't know. It isn't that important to me. I'm more worried about a successful relationship in general. Marriage just adds a certificate. It doesn't mean anything."

He sat up next to her, "so you don't want to get married?"

"I didn't say I didn't want to. I said it isn't really a priority to me Chris. I have Lucas. I have you. I love you. I don't need a piece of paper to prove my love."

He groaned, "I know. But I want to be able to call you my wife." He leaned towards her, his lips hovering over hers, "Katherine Evans. You don't want that?"

She sighed, "I could be persuaded." She squealed as she felt him pin her back to the bed.
