The next morning, when y/n woke up, she was dead tired. She stayed in bed until the rest of the girls were about to leave for breakfast. When they met the boys in the common room, Draco made a joke about how dead she looked, but she didn't really comprehend it until a few moments after the rest of the group laughed, a giggle bursting through her lips, surprising her and everyone else. After that y/n was more awake and everyone was laughing on the way to the great hall.
Breakfast was delicious, y/n's being french toast with strawberries on top. In the middle of the meal, Gylfie landed next to y/n with a little note strapped to her clawed foot. Madame Pomfrey had wrote to tell her she could come in today as she wasn't as busy as she thought she would be. Y/N quickly responded on the same piece of parchment that she would go see her after lunch and asked that she send Gylfie to her mum and dad when she got y/n's message. Then she strapped the message from Madame Pomfrey back onto Gylfie's leg, and put the letter with Mum and Dad scrawled across the back, in her beak.
"Madame Pomfrey," said y/n, sending Gylfie to find the matron.
After Gylfie had left, y/n noticed Draco had gotten a box of sweets from his parents. She didn't know how she had missed him receiving it, though. He was telling their friends loud enough that the Hufflepuffs on the other side of the Great Hall turned their heads to scowl at him. Harry Potter, much to Draco's delight, had also noticed and turned to scowl at Draco as he gloated loudly.
When the meal was over, y/n went with the rest of the group to the Entrance Hall where she told them to go on without her.
"I want to work on some spells for charms." She glanced at Draco. "I'll meet up with you before lunch." She waved and turned to walk away but Draco stopped her, as they had planned.
"I'll come. I have charms homework I should get done and Father will kill me if I get behind. Wants me to join the Ministry or something. I'll see you all later." Draco walked to y/n's side and almost everyone in the group gave them suspicious looks. All except Crabbe and Goyle who were exceptionally thick and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
The two returned to Slytherin Common Room so y/n could grab her list of spells she had compiled the night before, and then walked down to the shore of the Great Lake a little ways away from where they met on Friday. Their friends had claimed the previous spot and Draco didn't want them knowing about their little lessons.
"What are we doing first?" Draco asked, eager to start.
"Well, I thought we would start with Colloshoo. It's the one that sticks your shoes to the floor. I tried it on my dad and got it right first try. You should have seen the look on his face," y/n said with a grin.
Draco laughed. "Alright, let's do it. You try it on me, then I'll try it on you."
"Got it." Y/N pulled her wand out, taking a deep to prepare herself. "Colloshoo," she said, waving her wand in a sort of half G shape, letting off a flash of yellow light.
Draco looked down and, on the bottom of his shoes was a thick, sticky green slime. When he tried to take a step, he stumbled and fell, his shoes coming of entirely.
"Wicked! How did you do that?" Draco said.
"Wait a minute. Don't you want your shoes back?" Y/N waved her wand, saying the hex breaker she had learned at home. Draco's shoes had no trace slime on them when he picked them up off the ground.
"Cool."
"Alright, this one is pretty easy, but it can go really wrong if you don't know how to cast it. Maybe leave your shoes on the ground and you can practice on them." Y/N took her own shoes off intending to use them as an example. "The first thing you should know, is this is a hex, which is in between a curse and a jinx. It's the middle ground. Worse than a jinx, better than a curse. Second, the light will probably give you away if you try to cast it on an unsuspecting person."
