3 rivalry

Everyone takes the files handed out by y/n and leaves the room, y/n just waits for the door to finally close:

"let me guess, everyone but me..."

"Someone like you? Trained in the Red Room, part of the Winter Soldier program, mastering dark magic... And you cost me $150 million. What else did you expect.

"From a son of a bitch like you? Oh nothing else. Is there anything else we need to discuss?"

"I chose you to train and prepare them for a lot of reasons, one of them is because you've been here a long time, you're good at what you do, but if something goes wrong and one of your people make a mistake, you will be punished for it you know that, don't you?"

Y/n takes a few steps towards Pierce and whispers to him

"your ridiculous threats don't get me..... I'm not like them and how about you would tell me something new"

She takes a few steps back and smiles at him mischievously.

"You know I'm not afraid of you Pierce"

with these words she leaves the room and goes to the others. When she is at the room where the meetings always take place she stops and listen the others;

"I don't understand why is she actually the leader?"
Kate asked in a rather contrived tone

"You'd better be quiet,"
Peter replied, a little more nervous

"I'm just saying Yelena is the oldest of us, Wanda she's super strong, the strongest of us and..."

"Shut up,"
Yelena interjected, hoping Kate would just stop

"She's 16, a kid, she doesn't even know our names, she's small okay a bit scary but she's..."

Kate stopped herself when she saw y/n walking in, her funny grin changed to fear you could see deep in her eyes. The other four of the group just stood there and waited for her reaction.

"Say it again!"
Said y/n walking slowly towards Kate

"I well uhm it is"
Kate couldn't think straight or form a clear sentence, her heart was racing and with every step y/n took towards her she became more and more insecure and more and more afraid

"Say it to my face Bishop come on"
With every step y/n took forward, Kate took one back, but now she was backed against the wall
Y/n is so close to her that she can hear Kate's heart beating and Kate can feel her breath on her skin. Kate shuts her eyes tight and her breath catches.

"I thought so,"
Y/n whispered in Kate's ear, walking away again.

"That's why I'm the leader"
she turns and is now talking to the whole group, not just Kate.

"Leaders are born and not made.
It doesn't matter how tall you are or how old you are."

Everyone stares at her as y/n walks across the room, Kate has her eyes open now and is staring at her with glassy eyes.

"Yes, I may be small and only 16, but when I stand in front of someone I don't even have to talk and they are already intimidated. Because it's the charisma, the mind, the mentality, the self-confidence and the appearance"

A small proud smile forms on Yelena's lips.

Y/n turns back to Kate
"you don't want me to be your leader please go go you know where the door is."

Again she takes a few steps towards Kate: "But you should remember one thing,
If you stand behind me I will protect you,
If you stand besides me I will respec you, but If you stand against me I will destroy you ."

The room is silent as y/n pauses, the only sound is her footsteps as she walks across the room, everyone afraid to move or say anything.

"But if you decide to leave, I will hunt you down, I will find you and make you suffer, I will torture you, torture you like no one has ever been tortured before and I will kill you, slowly, intimately and painfully,"
y/n continues .

"And that's a promise"
again, y/n takes a few steps towards Kate and her eyes darken, they're becomingdark like the night, y/n's facial expression becomes serious, more serious than it usually is and her eyes all over become darker and darker.
Kate's panic on her face getting more by every second

"And you should know you have my word and I'll never break that, so choose your decision wisely, fight with me and win or fight against me and lose"

y/n's eyes are slowly getting back to normal and the black that made her eyes look like dark Holes disappeared.

"By the way, that's meant for all of you"
with these words y/n leaves the room.

Minutes after y/n's speech, everyone is still in the same place, the fear of moving is still there, it takes a few more minutes for everyone to get it together and process what just happened; the dominance of her, her speech, her charisma, and above all what happened to her eyes because that was anything but human.

"You should think before you speak Bishop" Yelena breaks the silence and is about to leave

"I didn't..."
Kate tried to explain but Yelena turns back and interrupts her:

"You say she's too young, she's a kid? So just now I only saw one kid and that was you "

"I'm just thinking"
Kate tries to explain further but gets interrupted again by Yelena:

"I don't care what you think...you have no idea, neither of you"

Yelena looks at the group and shakes her head with an incredulous smile:

"You don't really think that's the hydra, do you? You get food, you can sleep in a bed, you won't get hurt or tortured. Do you even know why you Have it so well here? The reason is she... The reason is y/n! All alone y/n"

Yelena turns to Kate and asks her:

"remember when you messed up the first mission, you panicked but you would never be punished. Why?"

"Because Pierce never found out?"

"Oh god...come on he knows everything"

"Because he doesn't care, it all turned out fine in the end,"

"And why? Because of y/n..... That's not how Hydra works, that's not how the Red room works. You're always punished for every little thing, for every little mistake."

Yelena pauses to get it together , her eyes glaze over:

"Y/n would never admit it but she went to pierce, she said she made that mistake, she took the blame"

A small tear rolls down her face

"And while you slept nicely in your warm bed at the end of the building I heard her screams, she screamed and begged to stop, she suffered to protect you"

Peter and Wanda, who have been looking at the floor the whole time, raise their heads in shock and Kate's facial expression also seems shocked.

"She protected you... And had to suffer for it. So the next time anyone doubts her or wants to drag her name through the mud, think about what she has done for you, for everyone here, for us."

She wipes away the tear and slowly walks to the door

"You know that's a leader, someone who protects their people. She doesn't have to brag about what she does, that's what makes a leader and a good person. She protects you behind your back, she doesn't want gratitude or pity or a thank you, she would never tell you, but she protects us all...
You don't have to like her or become her friends, but at least she deserves your respect."

With these words she leaves the room.
