"we know that y/n is shadow, a new finding, she's also smarter and always a few steps ahead of us...yes that's really great...but somehow it doesn't get us anywhere at all"

Tony gets upset, but he seems more frustrated and distressed than angry.

"She's playing a bloody game with us..."
Steve states,

Tony just looks at him annoyed because everyone already knows this and repeating it over and over only makes it more frustrating.

"I just don't get it, I mean she just let herself be arrested,"
explains Bruce, he seems frustrated and a little desperate too.

One girl, and so many questions, so many things that don't add up at the moment, none of them thought that this mission would be so complex and difficult.

"it was too easy even though she's young... she's never been caught or even seen before and now she lets herself be arrested and she doesn't even run away or try to defend herself"

Tony's voice becomes more and more desperate. He and the others thought they were about to win, they thought they finally outwitted y/n but apparently they were wrong.

"when we arrested her, what did we do then?"

nat asked, although it wasn't really a question as she seemed to already know the answer

"We tried to get her to talk?!"
Clint replied, sounding like a question

"and what haven't we done?"
ask tony, he seems to understand what natasha is getting at

"we neglected the rest of the group, we were just concentrating on y/n"
answered Bruce who got it now.

"i don't understand"
Said steve, who seems to be the only one who doesn't understand the whole thing and situation

"She played her little game with us, manipulated us, tricked us, because that's exactly what she wanted and we gave her, what she wanted from us, not to get too close to the others"

Bruce tried to explain it to steve a little clearer, but steve's facial expression still seems more confused.

"and that means? I mean well she played with us, but how does that get us anywhere?"
he asked again

"We know her greatest weakness,"
explains Bruce

"She would do anything, even risk her own death, to protect the others,"
adds Tony

"And if that's really the true, it changes everything and then..."
Nat started to talk

"Then she's not as bad as we thought"
Tony ends Nat's sentence.

It's getting later and later, the Avengers are still digging through some files and trying to find out something new from the information that Tony pulled onto an external disk, since he doesn't really trust the government or S.H.I.E.L.D, but it's in vain.

"Hey what's up Tony?"
Romanoff asked, because she seems more  calmer, quieter and a little more distant than usual

"I should have known,"
he replies, turning to Nat

"I mean it was right there...and I missed it," he added, but before Nat could answer, Steve replies,

"we were all fooled by her."

"I hate it..I mean how is that possible...why is she always ahead of us?"
Tony walks over to the others seated at the table and joins them

"She's good at what she does,"
Fury states

"Don't you think she's  a bit too good?"
Asked Steve

"A mole?"
asked Bruce confused

"Well to me it looks like she's a loner, a lone wolf, you know"
Nat surmises

"But that contradicts the fact that it's a group and she's the leader,"
counters Fury

"We're seven people, seven people and one of them is a genius, so of core me ... And we can't seem to figure out a stupid little girl" Tony seems to be getting more and more desperate and upset

"I don't think you meant that stupid, because it seems she's very smart, but you're right, we're missing something."
Notes Steve.

"What about the ring?"
asks Nat.

Everyone just looks at her confused, yes she hasn't mentioned it yet because she thought it wasn't important. But there are no other clues or things to track

"A ring from y/n that she probably got when she was a very little kid, it's gold and has the symbol of a helmet, just like Loki has, and emerald stones,"
Nat tries to explain briefly and concisely

"Why should Loki have anything to do with her?"
Tony puts his face in his hands in desperation:

"and Thor is gone now too... And i know Loki, he doesn't talk, does he?"
Adds Tony

"He says it's against y/n's rules of the game, our team against her...and Loki isn't a team member..so...no..he doesn't talk..he just wants to see us lose"
explains Nat.

"so again nothing just a dead end like everything else this girl is insane in a bad way for those who don't understand"
Tony said while looking at Steve
