62 Coble Hill, Brooklyn...

Hailey was outside again scrubbing the grimy windows outside her New York home. It had been a week since she'd moved here. She had fallen in love with the city the moment she had stepped into it. It was just so lively all the time, she realized she absolutely loved the city life that she had never gotten to experience living in the suburbs all her life.

Of course, there were downsides like sometimes she would see garbage bags on the street, and once a man had snatched the beaded bag off her shoulder which still contained all of her belongings and she had chased him for 2 streets until she had finally pulled out her wand and stunned him in an empty alleyway.

"They finally sold the place?" An old lady, about 60 asked. Hailey turned around, she was pretty sure she recognized her as the neighbor but she couldn't be certain.

"Ah where are my manners?" she asked rhetorically. "My name is Karen Tushman but just call me Karen. I live right next door, it was about time they sold this place. It's been 30 years already,"

"Uh, yea. I moved in last week, Hailey Potter," she introduced herself politely to the nice old lady. She removed her gloves and dumped them into the bucket she was using to clean the windows.

"Did you know the Evans family?" Hailey asked.

"Know them? I knew Rose all my life, we grew up on this street together, and then her boyfriend moved in with her and they got married and had 2 daughters too. A really nice family, my daughters loved playing with theirs. Petunia was a sweet little angel, Annie loved her." Karen said.

"Oh, why did they leave then?" Hailey asked out of curiosity.

"Their younger one, the redhead. She was cursed. Weird things started happening around her. Once they were playing with a tea set when Annie wouldn't give Lily the pink cup. That made her angry and she blew the cup in her face. I was right there drinking coffee with Rose when it happened. We don't talk about the freak, the whole street knows that. If anybody asks, you didn't hear this from me," Karen said.

Hailey should've guessed, Karen thought Aunt Petunia was 'a sweet little angel', of course, it didn't get better from there.

"Anyways, I better get going. Nice talking to you Hailey Potter. Drop by sometime for coffee," she said pushing her grocery cart to her house.

She just called her mother a freak, how Hailey would love to fry her with her next batch of crisps.

She took out her fury on the windows, the last part of the exterior that needed cleaning. This worked very effectively because within the next hour, Hailey was calmer and the windows were spotless. She went back inside.

On the main floor were the living area, the dining area, and the kitchen. The second floor had 2 bedrooms. One was obviously the kids' room. There were 2 metal bed frames against each of the walls. Over one wall was a large P decorated with ugly squiggles and the other wall held an L with childish doodles (maybe she was biased as to how she saw them). The was pink and purple striped wallpaper peeling from the walls when she had first found it. She didn't want to redo the entire room so she just fixed whatever needed to be fixed and stored away all of Petunia's things in the attic. She decided to turn it into the guest room for when Ron and Hermione visited.

She took the master bedroom which had a huge bed and the bathroom. The decor was fairly neutral and she didn't care much to change it. Except she created a cozy corner for Hedwig. Her snowy owl deserved it after being with her for so many years and even through the Dursleys' torture where they wouldn't let her out of the cage.
