•Brittany's POV•
Brooke and I walked outside to see our parents' cars driving up the driveway. Not only that but my mom is blasting Birthday by Selena Gomez from the car."Woo! Woo! Happy birthday girls!" My mom yells over the music.
Then Brooke's mom gets out of the car and starts dancing.
"Oh god help me," Brooke says while face palming herself.
"C'mon guys! Par-tay!" Brooke's mom yells.
Then the music gets lower and our parents walk up to us with a wide grin on their faces.
"So, you know how you both wanted to meet your birth parents?" My mom squeals.
"Well, it will finally come true!" Brooke's mom adds. "I'll write down when and where you can meet your birth parents when I remember."
"Oh my god thank you so much!!" Brooke and I say in unison.
"So are both of our birth parents going to meet up somewhere so we can meet them at the same time?" I ask. Our moms just look at each other worriedly.
"Uh yeah.." My mom says with a fake smile. She's a bad actress.
Now I know something might be a little wrong. I can't stop wondering what it could be.
Is one of our parents a criminal? Can one of them not make it? Does one of them not want to see one of us?
I didn't even realize I was staring into space and ignoring what Brooke was saying.
"Brittany? Did you hear anything?" Brooke laughed.
"Whaa?" I say confused. I really didn't hear what she said. Oops.
"Well as I was saying... I think we will have many doughnuts left over from today, I'm gonna bring some!"
"Uh, great. So interesting." I say with a poker face, but I just end up laughing.
"Sounds like a good plan, guys!" Brooke's mom similes.
******
"My eyes are sparkling." Brooke says mesmerized while looking at her reflection from her phone.
We walked back inside because I swear I heard a raccoon or something. Or maybe I just have problems.
"Happy birthday munchkin!" My brother Shawn yells.
"Uh thanks? And I'm not a munchkin! I'm only three inches shorter than you!"
"Haha, well I don't care right now," Shawn chuckles. "But I do care about CAKE!"
"And doughnuts?"
"There's doughnuts too? This is a better party than I thought it would be."
I just watch Shawn run over to the doughnuts and cake as Jason walks up to me. It's funny because I think he has the hiccups.
"Hey, so h-how's your b-birthday been so f-far?" I laugh at first because he sounds so funny when he hiccups, but then I really answer.
"Well.. It's been good. I apparently am going to meet my birth parents along with Brooke's."
"Cool, so you aren't going to be scared about Andrews dad and Brooke right?" Great. So now this subject comes back up.
"Um, I think I'll be fine. But, it scares me that Andrew's dad could possibly be after Brooke. That probably won't happen right?" I forced a smile. I don't want to feel scared or sad on my birthday.
"Well, I don't really know.. I wish I could tell you. Anyways, do you want to share this doughnut? I don't think I can finish this alone." Jason splits his heart shaped doughnut (with chocolate sprinkles of course) and holds it out.
"Sure!" I take the half of a doughnut and take a delicious bite.
Then I heard a scream coming from outside.
