Chapter 4 - The Party (🔞 NSFW)

It was Saturday, the day of Sarahs' party. The week had gone by without anything out of the ordinary happening. Cassie and Sarah still hadn't spoken about the kiss earlier that week. The only person she told about it was Jacqui, along with that crazy dream she had.

Most of the people that were invited didn't show up. It was mainly Cassie, Jacqui and the neighbors' kids that were forced to show up. Johnny had dropped Cassie off at the Bryant house. He was going out of town for a movie shoot soon and didn't want to risk leaving Cassie by herself in that large house. Even if she was 18.

The party went by really quickly. Paul, Sarahs' dad, did the cooking while everyone sat around talking or playing in the pool. It was around 6pm when by the time everyone had left except for Cassie. Johnny was still on set and it was getting later than normal for filming.

[Johnny] – "Hey, Cas, I'm not going to be able to pick you up on time. See if you can stay there for a while. Filming is taking longer than it should. You may have to stay the night. Call me back when you get this. And don't go home either, Sonyas' not home tonight either. I don't want you staying by yourself. Later kid."

Cassie didn't see the notification on her phone until sometime later. She was busy helping Sarah and Paul clean up after the party. Pulling the inflatables out of the pool while Sarah collected trash and Paul cleaned the grill of leftover hamburger and hotdog. Paul was tall and thin like Sarah. They even looked alike with the exception of Pauls' short brown hair and goatee.

[Paul] – "So, Cassie. I appreciate your help but it's really not necessary."

[Cassie] – "It's no problem. I don't like just standing around anyway."

[Paul] – "Hey, I understand your dad is Johnny Cage, huh? How's he doing?"

[Cassie] – "Alright, I guess. He's on set filming ... I don't know...something. I can't keep up with him some days. Speaking of, I need to call him."

Stepping away to check her phone, she finally sees the voicemail left by her father. Just as she suspected, Johnny wasn't able to be there. Frustrated, she called him, trying to mask her disappointment.

[Cassie] – "Dad...."

[Johnny] – "Hey Cas. Did you get my message?"

[Cassie] – "Yeah, I got it. Look, I can stay by myself, you know. It's not a big deal."

[Johnny] – "Yeah...No. Not happening. Is Sarahs' dad there? I want to ask him if you can stay the night."

[Cassie] – "He's here. Hang on."

Cassie, even more frustrated, headed back over to where Paul and Sarah were still cleaning. Informing him that her father wanted to speak to him while handing him the phone.

[Paul] – "Hey man! We were just talking about you."..."Yeah, yeah she can stay. I have to work though, but Sarah will be here"..."Oh yeah, yeah, no issues."..."Sure I'll tell her."..."Sure man, alright then bye."

[Paul] – "Cassie, your dad asked if Sarah could take you to your mom's house to grab an overnight bag. You're staying here tonight."

Paul hands the phone back to Cassie. She finishes her conversation with Johnny as she walks over to Sarah who is now cleaning off the last of the plates off of the picnic basket.

[Cassie] – "Hey, my dad called. He wants me to stay here overnight. Can you take me to my moms' house to pick up a few things?"

[Sarah] – "Sure. Is Dad okay with it? He's got to work tonight. So...it will just be us."

[Cassie] – "Yeah. He's okay with it. You don't mind, do you?"

[Sarah] – "Of course not. We don't have any spare bedrooms so you'll have to stay in my bed. You're not afraid of that are you?"
