Sonya was pacing back and forth in her office. She was becoming more and more impatient. The twenty-four hours were almost up and time was ticking down for Redfield to get back to her about the status of her daughter.

Jacqui was with her. She was the only other ranked member of the Special Forces and the only other person she really trusted out of the group other than Cassie. That and she is her God-daughter after all. While Takeda was reliable, she needed him to keep an eye on Jin. Sonya was on the verge of giving the order to Jacqui to collect them both when the phone finally rang.

"Where is my daughter?!" She yelled into the phone. She didn't give a shit about anything else. If there was any other words than Cassie was alive and well, there would be hell to pay. She had every intention to bomb the hell out of that castle and put a bullet between the eyes of any sorry son of a bitch that got in her way.

"She's fine General." Tundra answered. "I saw her outside of the castle, alone. It looked as if she was headed back to the there."

"Specialist Briggs reported Sargent Cage to be severely injured. What of that?" Sonya asked confused. She knew Jacqui wouldn't lie to her.

"When I spoke to her, she said she was injured but that Dimitrescu 'healed' her. She didn't know how exactly." Tundra responded. "She didn't give any other details."

Sonya sighed in relief. Cassie was alive and well for now. "Anything else?"

"She wanted to leave. I convinced her it was in all of our interest that she stay. She eventually agreed. Then we went our separate ways."

Something didn't sound right. There was too much information missing. "How can we trust you?" Sonya demanded.

"I've already sent you pictures General."

Sonya removed the phone from her ear. The message icon was blinking at the top. Images of Cassie filled her screen. She was wondering through the village seemingly uninjured and very much alive. "Did you follow her?" Sonya asked.

"For a while, she was looking for her team. They had already left the day before. I was wondering why she wasn't with them." Tundra said.

"Thank you." Sonya said slightly bewildered. "Keep an eye on her, report any changes."

"Will do, General." Tundra said as she hung up the phone. She put the phone down next to Chris. He had just lit his cigar as the call ended.

"Why did you want me to leave out the lycan attack?" Tundra asked.

"Whatever keeps her at bay." Chris responded. "We don't need to provoke her into attacking the village before we have what we need." Chris took a drag from his cigar. He had his eye on the office door. He was expecting company. "The less she knows the better." He said just as a familiar face entered the room.

Cassie's eyes fluttered open. It was hard to focus but she could make out that she was in a different part of the castle. As her vision cleared, she began to recognize what little she could see. There was a vague memory of the ceiling coffers, she had seen them before but couldn't place exactly what room she was in.

Slowly sitting up to view her surroundings, Cassie found herself floating in a large pool. The dark red viscus liquid had a familiar rancid stench of iron that filled the room. "God I hope this isn't what I think it is" Cassie muttered to herself.

"That depends on what you think it is." A voice spoke to her from across the pool.

Cassie looked over to see Lady Dimitrescu sitting in the pool with her. "Is this... blood?" She asked.
