It's a new day for the residents of Aqua-Miami.

Four months have passed since the day that changed the world forever.

Most of Miami's changed population decided to stay within the shores near Miami. Some decided to go explore the open ocean to embrace their new forms while others were still confused and scared of their new surroundings and life. A lot of the citizens of Miami came together and started building an underwater city in order to live a somewhat normal life, at least in terms of their surroundings. They managed to hollow out large rocks in order to be converted into homes using tools they created from the environment and trash that was thrown in the ocean. Caves near the area were converted into storage areas and mineshafts in order to give some of the people some form of employment. Caravans of mermaid merchants passed by the construction of the new city and they introduced the basics of how the merfolk economy worked. Their main form of currency is small pearls that are readily abundant across the ocean. Some of those caravans who felt sympathetic to the humans who were taken from their land against their will decided to stay to help with the construction of Aqua-Miami. Soon, they were also able to construct skyscraper-like buildings using scrap metal and materials gained from the caravans. They also managed to build and establish businesses such as restaurants, bars and shops. They even managed to construct an underwater mall filled with shops and it even has a theater for live performances as movies were now a thing of the past. The mermaids who assisted with the development of the city were greatly confused yet intrigued by the architecture of the former humans. They were used to structures being made out of large rocks that were usually one story high, while two story high or taller structures were very rare, save for the palaces of each kingdom. They were also dumbfounded by the rigid and rectangular designs of the structures since they were used to the jagged and irregular shapes that rocks possessed. Even the palaces were different since they possessed circular architecture as opposed to the quadrilateral based architecture of the former humans. They even managed to establish the normal services within the city such as law enforcement and education. Despite many challenges the former humans faced such as adapting to being underwater as well as finding materials to build the city, cooperation allowed the project to be completed 10 weeks after everyone became merfolk.

Amara was just entering the city. Despite not having phones anymore as they wouldn't survive in the water and mermaids lacking advanced technology, the magically adept mermaids from the caravans taught the former humans some basic magic. One of those basic spells was one that told the time by projecting either the sun or moon as well as the numerical time. It was 10:07 AM. Most of the restaurants were open at this time and Amara wanted to apply as a waitress at one of them in order to get some income. She decided to drop out of school as she thought that she wouldn't need to learn unnecessary things such as history and higher maths due to the circumstances. She figured knowing about American history and calculus was pointless in a world where the population has to build back up from rock bottom.

She entered a restaurant called "Pisces' Treats". She saw that they were hiring waitresses and the pay was good enough for her. As she entered the premises, she saw all sorts of merfolk inside. All of them were chatting with each other and eating in a lively manner. What got her attention however was a merman at the bar. He was chatting with some other mermen and they were snacking on sea snails and other aquatic equivalents for bar food. Not seeing any beer bottles made the bar feel slightly off as merfolk didn't need to drink due to their aquatic nature but the atmosphere and the chatter still distinctly gave off bar vibes. This particular merman she encountered was a specimen to behold in Amara's eyes. He was tan with an impressive six-pack. He had a well defined nose, big, brown eyes and suave lips. He had a brown tail that complemented his skin tone that was visibly muscular and he sported a wide tailfin. Despite not being able to hear what he was saying over the noise of the restaurant, she could tell he had a very charming and charismatic attitude based on his body language. She could also tell he seemed to be very dominant in the bedroom as evidenced by how he slams the table and moves his arms. She was starting to think of dirty thoughts involving him pounding her on the bed but she mentally slapped herself at that thought given that he looked to be in his early thirties. Little did her friends know, Amara was attracted to DILFs and MILFs and wanted to be submissive in a relationship. She always kept this a secret to herself because didn't want anyone else to know about her sexual fantasies.
