Amara wasn't sure where she was. All she remembered was that they were ambushed by a group of sirens before she blacked out. Wherever she was, it felt rather welcoming. She was hearing chatter and lively interactions. She finally managed to open her eyes to find that she was seated in front of a table with all sorts of meals prepared on it. Surrounding the table were sirens who were enjoying the meals and having conversations with each other. She noticed that the sirens looked different from the merfolk she encountered. First of all, they were much paler than the citizens of the Arctic kingdom. They also had longer elf like ears as opposed to the normal looking human ears that the merfolk had. Their tails also seemed to be thicker than the Arctic merfolk and only came in colors of either gray or while and their tailfins even had some sharp points. They all seemed to be female with larger breasts on average as compared to normal merfolk. She assumed this was their way to adapt to the colder temperatures much like the Arctic mermaids. They also had sharp teeth, similar to that of a shark. All of a sudden, everyone stopped what they were doing when they noticed her being finally awake.

"W-Where am I?" Amara weakly asked.

The one seated at the other end of the table then spoke up, "You're our special guest. I am the chief of this group, Frida. We brought you here to our village since you looked like you needed help when we found you,"

"Where's Rodrigo?" Amara quickly asked when she noticed he wasn't there.

"The one you speak of who I presume to be the other merman that doesn't look like an Arctic soldier is being restrained in a different hut at the moment. He seems to be rather... difficult to calm down," Frida said.

"Can I go check on him, please?" Amara asked as she got off her seat in an agitated tone.

"I beg you, enjoy the meal first. You seemed to not have eaten in a while. Your friend is completely fine, we're not going to harm him," Frida said.

Amara calmed down and sat back down. The rest of the sirens at the table continued from where they left off. She then looked at the table to see what meals they had prepared. A dish that struck her eye seemed to be cod with a bit of seaweed with it. She took some and took a bite out of it. It tasted pretty good with the softness of the fish being complemented by the slightly crispy texture of the seaweed. As she was enjoying the bite, she heard a little voice talk to her. She turned her head to the left and saw a young siren looking at her. She looked to not be older than ten and had adorable features while also possessing the shark teeth and thicker tail like the older sirens.

"Your tail looks really pretty. I wish my tail could be colorful like yours," The young siren said.

Amara's heart almost melted at the cute, innocent siren that was admiring her. Amara wasn't used to being complimented a lot for her looks when she was a human so hearing this from an adorable siren child was a welcome surprise.

"Aww, thanks," Amara said while slightly blushing. "I'm Amara, what's your name?"

"I'm Katri," the young siren replied. "Are you enjoying the food? Mommy hopes that you enjoy it," she also asked.

"It tastes really good. Your mom's cooking is amazing," Amara replied.

"You're welcome," Katri said in a happy tone. She then made a curious face. "What is that you're wearing?" she asked.

"Oh this?" Amara said as she removed her coat. "It's to help me stay warm,"

"Then what's that for?" Katri asked while pointing at her bikini top.

"This is so that I can keep my modesty," Amara replied.

"What is modesty? I never see Mommy and the others wear anything like you do," Katri said.
