"Why yes I am. The only and only empress of the oceans," Raina said.
Amara could only admire Raina's beauty. She towered over her and her tail had scales of different shades of purple complemented her light brown skin. Her caudal fin was larger than the other mermaids she had encountered on her adventure. She also noticed that unlike other merfolk she has encountered, Raina had a fin running on the back of her tail from her rear to just before her caudal fin began. She also had a staff that slightly glowed white on the end. Her long brown hair was decorated with all sorts of undersea jewels and was topped with a golden crown that couldn't compare to any other crown both on land and under the waves. To top it all off, she possessed massive breasts that only served to highlight and complete her look. She was the literal definition of a MILF in Amara's eyes.
Amara stopped herself from getting too distracted from her figure and said, "So the legends are true, you are still alive,"
"Living and breathing in front of your very eyes... Amara," Raina replied.
Both Amara and Rodrigo were surprised to hear Raina say her name. They didn't introduce themselves to her yet somehow she knew who Amara.
Immediately, Amara replied, "How do you know my name?"
"You see, this giant pearl isn't only for decoration," Raina said. She then said while waving her hands above the pearl, "Show me the Atlantic kingdom,"
The pearl glowed a little before showing an image of the Atlantic kingdom. It looked cleaner since the last time Amara and Rodrigo have been there, probably due to Kendall taking over and improving the kingdom.
"I have been watching you ever since you left the Arctic kingdom. I was interested in you because you seemed to possess a lot of life energy, which is how I managed to live this long," Raina explained.
"What did you do?" Rodrigo asked.
"You see, a thousand years ago, I cast a spell that would turn all of humanity into merfolk. Unfortunately, I was interrupted by a human who was helped by a mermaid and the king of the Atlantic kingdom at the time ruined the spell. He made it so that it would be cast a thousand years later. Given that the both of you used to be humans, I can see that it indeed worked," Raina said.
"How did you manage to live this long?" Amara asked.
"After the spell was altered, I vowed to myself that I would see the day that the spell took effect and that I would assume control over everyone. In order to do that, I captured merfolk that just so happened to wander by. I sucked the life energy out of them in order to keep my youth and prolong my life. I was able to do this for two hundred years before I was caught by one of the rulers of the other kingdoms. They then came to try and stop me but I managed to teleport myself before they managed to land the final blow. They then left, thinking I was gone but I was hiding within another part of the palace, waiting for them to depart. Once they were gone, I transferred all the items in the laboratory into this secret room so no one could find me. I then set up defenses around my palace so that no one could find me. You have somehow managed to get through the chaotic waters, magical projectiles, underwater geysers and even my previous victims. That astonishes me as most who venture even close to the defenses end up getting knocked out. In any case, those defenses are the very reason I am still able to capture merfolk, since as soon as they are knocked out, my undead victims bring them back to me for me to feast upon their life energy. All of my victims came upon here by chance, none of them ever actively went out of their way to find me. That is, until you two arrived. Much to my surprise, the kingdoms decided to keep the locations of my palace split up between themselves which allowed the two of you to arrive here," Raina further explained.
