Crying is an essential part of the human experience. It's as essential as any other emotion one may feel. We feel happy - we laugh. We feel angry - we explode or implode. However, for some strange reason, crying has been associated with weakness, when, actually, it's a form of mental and emotional detoxification, as well as a formation of neurons. We cleanse things; process things.
Menstruation, for example, is a monthly cycle of detoxification for the body. There are many changes occurring at once. And perhaps in the hormonal changes, the tendency to cry is a form of emotional detox; emotional release. It's that natural.
We laugh so freely at the silliest of things - like videos of cats slapping people; and we curse so freely when we do something as trivial as stubbing a toe; or when a bad driver brings out a word or two, from us. And yet we are so quick to suppress the need to cry.
