Keira took a bite of her bacon egg and cheese sandwich, washing it down with a Snapple Apple. She didn't understand what the hype was about being that's the only flavor Rodrick drinks, but she gets it now. It's currently her new favorite beverage.

"So you've been speaking to this nigga for a minute now and never realized he's Roddy Ricch?" Ella squinted at her younger cousin confused.

"Don't look at me like that, bitch. You know I don't listen to rap like that," Keira groaned taking another bite.

"He's just starting to blow up and get famous, but still, I hear his music on the radio sometimes," Ella responded wiping down the sticky counter, "I would've put two and two together."

"He's going to the block party, he asked if I was going too."

Ella raised a brow, "Well, are you?"

It will be two years since the death of her parents and she wasn't exactly sure if she was mentally prepared to revisit the same place where they died.

Keira shrugged, "I dunno. We'll have to close the shop for the day if I do, but I don't think we can afford to miss a whole day of sales. We're already in competition with that corner store up the block."

"Keira, stop stressing yourself out. They overcharging like shit over there, they're not gonna last long. This store has been serving people for years, the community will stick by us no matter what. "

Keira sighed pushing her curls out of her face. She was overwhelmed with school, the store, and life in general. Rent is expensive and she doesn't know how she'll afford to attend school next semester due to all of her money going back into the store.

She finished her breakfast, stood up from her seat, and tossed out her garbage.

"I'll see you later, I don't want to miss the bus. Love you," She mumbled grabbing her book bag.

"Love you, be safe!" Ella called after her.

Keira stepped out onto the street, walking towards the bus stop. She pressed shuffle on her phone and began bobbing her head to the music. She leaned against the bus stop pole staring at her worn checkered slip-on vans.

A very familiar-looking Mercedes Benz pulled up in front of her slowly. She raised a brow as the driver rolled down the dark-tinted passenger window.

"Where you headed to?"

He looked really good.

She smiled to herself, "School."

"Let me take you."

She heard the car doors unlock and shook her head trying her best to hide her smile. She knew he wasn't going to take no for an answer so she opened the passenger door and got in.

His signature scent clouded her nostrils as her body molded into the warm leather seats.

"Where's your school? Pull it up on Google maps," He told her, handing her the Apple Car Play wire.

She looked at him before plugging her phone in as Summer Walker's Throw it Away immediately began playing throughout the car.

"Thank you," She mumbled entering her school's address as it displayed on the car's screen.

Roddy put the car in drive and drove in the direction Siri told him to go.

"I hope I'm not interfering with your plans," She added.
