Okay, he knew.
Now what?
Katsuki hadn't expected the pregnancy. Was he unhappy though? Hell no. Was he ready to do whatever was needed? Hell yes.
Except, what was needed? It's not like he studied this stuff. He knew omegas were prone to emotional swings, doing weird shit, and sometimes over-affectionate. He didn't mind that—he had only minded the ice thing because he knew that was too excessive (and the crunch was too loud).
So, he had nothing to worry about on that part. But what about the other things? He may be, as much as he hated admitting it, clueless about how to take care of a pregnant omega, but what about medical care? Now that was twice as important.
He could take care and give affection (as unbelievable as it may be to anyone but Izuku) to Izuku for as long as the omega wanted, but what about medical attention? Check-ups, finding out the gender, figuring out where to go in case something needed to be checked and finally, where to go into labor. It was horrifying just thinking about it, and judging by Izuku's look, he could see that his emotion was clearly showing.
"Are you...alright?" Izuku slowly reached his hand forward, petting Katsuki as the two lay in bed next to each other, face to face. Katsuki hummed, a strained noise that he wished he could've taken back. Izuku blinked at him, still petting his hair as he seemed to try and read Katsuki's expression.
"I'm fine. Don't look at me like that." Katsuki grumbled, taking Izuku's hand by his wrist before putting it on his neck, letting Izuku's hand lay there before reaching with his same hand petting his hair. Izuku smiled at him lightly, but his smile slowly crept off, even as Katsuki kept on patting him.
"Are you worried?" Izuku asked quietly. Katsuki didn't answer this time, averting his eyes as he tried to form a response. "I get it, I really do, but...if you're not ready for this, you need to tell me. Now. I..." Izuku stopped, as if he was cut off by something. Katsuki glanced up at him, searching his expression just in time for his eyes to turn a little red and glossy.
"What are you thinning, Izuku? You're too worried."
"If I'm too worried, then you're absolutely wrecked, Katsuki." Izuku said, his voice cracking as he took a shaky deep breath, calming himself down as he tried to blink away the tears. "You look like you've never been as stressed as now in your entire life."
"Maybe." Katsuki admitted, feeling the words finally arrange themselves in his mind at the sight of the heart-broken male before him. "But that means I care, you know? I'm not worried about having a child. I'm worried about how to keep you and him, or her, safe. You have to know how stressful it is to not know how to help someone, right? You're just that type who understands this sentimental stuff." Katsuki scoffed, trying to lighten the mood, but Izuku sniffed again. Katsuki's smile faded, and he slowly moved his hand towards Izuku's jaw.
"Why are you crying, then? I'm guessing I'm getting this wrong after all." Izuku shuffled on the spot, taking Katsuki's hand and pressing the dorsal side of Katsuki's hand against his lips, kissing it lightly. Katsuki felt a small shiver, but he quickly focused back on Izuku as Izuku slowly closed his eyes, his breath still shaky.
"I...we never planned any of this."
"Yeah."
"I don't...if one of us were to change our mind now, what would happen?" Katsuki had to stay silent and think for a few seconds about what he meant, but when he did, he sat up from shock. The omega startled, his hand snapping away from Katsuki's as he slightly sat up himself, cautious and slightly panicked. However, Katsuki was definitely more panicked at the moment.
