He wasn't there. He left. He left, right after he came. He wasn't there, the nurse told Izuku everything, even if reluctantly. Told him how she said he could come in, and how he disappeared when she checked again. Told him how the receptionist saw the man sprinting out of the hospital, as if he had other matters, more important matters apparently, to attend.

And Izuku was raging. Or, at least, internally, albeit even that was slowly dissipating as he processed what had happened hours after Katsuki left.

Mieko was in his arms, and she was small, fragile. You can't call a baby cute, because their slightly wrinkled faces and weird looking bodies aren't what you imagine a cute baby would look like. Therefore, she wasn't cute, but in Izuku's eyes...she was a beauty.

He couldn't really see her eyes yet. They were closed when she cried, and closed when she fell asleep a minute or so afterwards in his hands. But her hair was dark, and he knew it would be beautiful. She was also peaceful, yelling only for a few short minutes, or seconds. Izuku couldn't tell, but...that's not what mattered.

She was a beauty, a little sweet girl he knew deserved the world if she so wished. He wished that Katsuki could be there to say the same thing, but at the same time, he didn't want to bother caring. The alpha had left, which means he didn't deserve to witness her beauty, and it was enough for Izuku that the nurses supported him and told him that themselves.

Izuku didn't need Katsuki. Right now, he had Mieko, and if Katsuki was that much of a selfish traitor, then he didn't need that type of person next to him. Mieko didn't need that type of person next to her. Izuku was betrayed, but he wouldn't come crying hysterically, asking why he left. If he still wasn't back, after all those hours he still had the chance, it had to mean something.

Whether or not Katsuki's reasons were important, Izuku couldn't care less. This mattered to him more than anything else in the world, and if Katsuki didn't agree with that, then he didn't deserve it. Therefore, at that moment, he vowed to himself, to himself and his daughter.

"I'm going to take care of you, baby." Izuku smiled at her, before being lightly pushed down, vaguely hearing that they're going to run a few tests and telling him to lay down. And we don't need anyone else for that.

Katsuki couldn't force himself into the delivery room, no matter how many times he paced by it.

The nurses weren't letting him anyway, but if he really wanted, he could storm in, even if only for a few minutes. And yet, he couldn't do it. God, his heart ached, he could've sworn it would be better if it'd been ripped out during the mission.

Which, speaking of...

"Bakugo." Hajime placed hush and firmly onto the blond's shoulder, and Katsuki let out a loud growl in return, glaring at the man over his shoulder.

"You've done enough. Why are you still here?" Katsuki snarled at him, barely holding back from ripping the man's throat out. For all the pain the man had caused him, the mission had caused, Hajime could've at least left him alone and not follow him all the way to the hospital again. Was this his way of tormenting him? "Go do your shitty job."

"I could tell the same to you, but I'm not."

"You think I care about that right now?" Katsuki's voice cracked, and he shuddered as he turned back forward, away from his colleague. He shouldn't have cared back then either. But what else could he do? Lose his job? Lose something he had spent years and years, all his life really, trying to achieve?

And yet, wasn't it the same with Izuku? How long did it take for him to finally convey his feelings to the omega, to finally get him to be his? To finally reach the peek of what they had, only to...
