1 day has past since I've delivered the letters to Two-bit and Steve.

I wake up in my bed, it was colder then usual. I got up to stretch and open my blinds. It was a foggy cold day. Perfect mail-man weather. I thought to myself sarcastically. I flipped the light switch but the light didn't turn in. The power was out. I continue with my morning and get dressed for my 'special occasion'. I'm not too excited about this one. I hope it goes well. I really, really hope it does. I toss my jacket on over my shoulders and slip my boots on. This is going to be a wild ride.

I walked to the Curtis' house first to see if they were there. I was actually surprised to see Dallas spread across the couch. Sadly, he had a big black eye,
"Dallas! What happened to your eye?" I gasped.
"Y/n? Where have you been? I haven't seen ya in weeks!" Dallas said sitting up with an ice pack on his eye. I sat down beside him and stared at my feet
"Do you know where Johnny is? I need to talk to him. Well, I needa talk to you both." I asked looking up at his face. He just stared at me, thinking about what too say next,
"Johnny should be at the lot, wanna go check?" He offered. But due to the condition of his eye, I had to decline.
"I'll go check and I'll come right back. You stay here alright?" I said as I got up from the couch, adjusting my shirt.
"Fine. But be fast, I don't have all day." Dally said in a slightly angry tone. I knew he had nothing to do today.

I walk out the door. My heart is pounding. I don't know how they are going to react. Hopefully Dallas doesn't just storm off on me like he did when me and Soda told him we were dating. I don't know why he stormed off like that. Maybe he liked me, I guess we'll never know.

I reach the lot but I see no sign of Johnny anywhere. But a familiar scent of cigarettes is coming from behind a big ol' tree, so I approach it.
"Johnny?" I called out in a quiet tone. I heard rustling in the leaves as someone came from behind the tree. It was Johnny. He looked, well, not the best. But a lot better then me.
"Y/n! What are you doin?" Johnny said. He was smiling. Gosh I haven't seen him smile in forever. I ran up and hugged him. Johnny was the only other gang member who could make me happy when I was at my lowest. Just by knowing he's around and on makes me happy. It took me a minute to snap back into reality,
"So, you gonna tell me what you're doin?" Johnny said in a semi-sarcastic tone.
"Right.. um just follow me." My mood completely switched and I knew his would too.

We walked into the Curtis house and luckily Dallas was still there. I sat Johnny down next to him and took out their letter.
"Y/n, what's that for?" Dallas asked in a concerned tone.
"It's a letter." I said not wanting to say his name.
"From who?" Johnny asked. I looked at my feet and sighed.
"It's a letter. A letter from Sodapop." I wanted this to be over already. Dallas dropped his ice pack and snatched the letter outta my hands. Dallas and Soda were actually closer then anyone would like. They hung out all the time even when soda was working. I guess dally started to love him at the wrong time.

Dear Dallas and Johnny,

Hey. I'm really sorry that you're reading this right now. Probably the last thing you want. Also, Dallas. I know y/n is there right now so please, don't run off from her like last time. Anyways, I hope you guys are doing ok. And Johnny I really hope things at home are ok. Dallas, please don't go out drinking all night. I know you probably think there's nothin better to do so just hang out with the gang. Even if you don't wanna be social, it's good to hang out with friends y'a know? Im really sorry. I tried my hardest. I love you both so much. Please stay strong. I don't want you guys to forget me, okay? Make sure you guys are there for each other when you need it. Im so so sorry this is short, I don't have much time left cause they only give you 45 minutes to write these stupid letters. 45 minutes. Unbelievable. Anyway, please stay healthy no matter how hard things get. You never know when you can lose someone, right? Until next time..
-yours truly, sodapop.

Dally looked stunned. He looked shocked. I didn't want to know what soda had written for them. Dallas soon passed the letter to Johnny. He had a strong grasp on the paper, like he didn't want to let go. But he knew he had too. I folded the letter back up and placed it on the coffee table. I didn't know who to look at so I ended up staring at my feet. I heard a light sniffle and looked up to see Dallas crying. THE Dallas Winston crying. I took him into a hug and grabbed Johnny too. Dallas started laughing. Laughing like he was actually happy..
"Stupid idiot I tell you. God.. ima miss him." He said with a smile. Me and Johnny looked at each-other confused and started laughing with him. I don't know why we were laughing. But I felt something I haven't felt in a long time.
I felt loved.

After a while of chatting and catching up, Dallas asked me a question,
"How many of those do you got to deliver?"
"Just Darry, Pony and so-" I stopped myself. I'm such an idiot. I ruined the moment. I looked at my feet and i felt Dally's arms around me. I embraced his presence. He had never hugged me like this before. In fact. He had never hugged me at all. I hugged him back and whispered
"Thank you.."
He let go and looked at me with a reassuring smile.
"I'm gonna get some fresh air.. see y'a boys later."
I got up from my spot on the couch and made my way out the door. I was soon stopped by Johnny..
"Y/n.. I just wanted to say thank you.. for everything."
"It's not biggy. I hope you guys are holdin up ok.." I replied with a faint smile and we went our separate ways.

Here I come Darry.
