*Camilo*

When I regained consciousness, the first thing I remembered was the pain. When the man had grabbed me, I had felt my entire body solidify, felt my heart stop, felt my lungs turn to rock before it had reached my head a second later and I had gone black. The second thing I remembered was Y/N's face in the split second before he had grabbed my arm, the look of terror on her face, realizing she couldn't get to me in time. "No," I mumbled, moving my head back and forth on whatever bed or surface I must have been lying on, trying to force my eyes open, "NO!"

"Camilo, stop, it's us, we're here!" I heard Mirabel's voice. "Don't scream, Mom will hear!"

I didn't care. I yelled out and covered my face, remembering the pain, remembering her face. I had no idea where I was. I forced my eyes open, but I could still barely see, the world murky and blurry, my eyes not adjusting. I moaned loudly, trying to roll onto my side, tears streaming down my face, so many things flashing through my head - the pain, Tio Bruno and the prophecy, searching the forest for Y/N not knowing if she was dead or alive, getting dragged out of Y/N's house by Luisa, Abuela hitting me in the face - and Y/N's face before the man had grabbed me. "Make it stop," I begged, holding my head, just wanting it to be black again.

"Camilo, we're here!" Dolores. "Please, please, it's okay, we're here, don't panic!" I felt her hand find mine and her other one on my chest. I moaned and sobs escaped my throat.

"What's wrong with him?" I heard Isabella asking someone in a panic. "Someone get one of mom's arepas!"

"Camilo!" It was Y/N. "Camilo, we're here, please, I'm here, you're okay."

I wasn't okay, but I tried to focus on her voice. She was alive. They hadn't done to her what they had done to me - or at least, if they had, she was also not in that state anymore, like I clearly wasn't. I stopped making noise and trying to move around to escape all the thoughts whirling in my head and slowly opened my eyes. It was still hard to see, but I could make out Dolores' fuzzy face. I turned to the other direction and there was Y/N's. She was alive. She was okay. I felt her take my hand.

"Eat this," Luisa said, also appearing beside me. I felt someone pushing food onto my lips and I opened my mouth to take it, swallowing quickly. Instantly, my vision cleared. I blinked, seeing Dolores, Luisa and Y/N come into focus. I tried to slow my breathing, focusing on Y/N's face. Tears were streaming down her face, as well.

Regaining calm finally, I finally reached up to touch her face, and letting out a sob, she reached down to hug me. "I thought they had killed you," she choked out. "I thought you were gone." I didn't have any words to reassure her - I had thought I was gone, too. I breathed in and out - panic rising again thinking of my lungs hardening, feeling it travel through my body. I released her and tried to sit up taller. I realized I was in Isabela's room, in her giant bed surrounded by immense gardens. Dolores, Mirabel, Isabela, Luisa and Y/N were all sitting in various places on the large bed, watching me, looking more terrified than I had ever seen them. I swallowed.

"Tell me what they wanted," I said to Y/N. "They ... they ... before he ... she said she wanted to talk to you."

Y/N looked over at Mirabel. "Look at me!" I said, much more harshly than I had intended, because everyone jumped. "I'm sorry," I said miserably, grabbing Y/N's hand in apology, "but please, please, just look at me and tell me what happened."

"They ... they needed something from me, something more. Something went wrong with their magic and they think I can fix it," Y/N said.

"What? Why?" I asked, confused.

"Because ... because I'm Gabriella's daughter."

"What?" I sat all the way up. Everyone else on the bed looked equally as taken aback. Everyone knew Y/N's mom had died when she was little, before she had moved here with her father.
