CHAPTER 11

The next day, Sandra went out to Abigail's house after church. She couldn't bear to spend the day with dare. She needed something to clear her mind and Abigail was the first person to meet.
"Sandy guess what?!" Was Abigail's welcome greeting immediately Sandra opened her door. She was very excited as she waited Sandra to guess the reason.
"Er...you got promoted?" Sandra said, she was bad at guessing and that was the first thing she thought of.
"Nope, guess again?" She was practically jumping as she waited for an answer
"Abby just tell me, you know I won't guess it right" Sandra was very curious now, her reason for the visit forgotten as she wanted to know what made her friend so excited.
"Okay, let me give you an hint. Guess who's going to be an aunty soon?" She asked smiling as she rubbed her tummy. Sandra's hands went straight to her mouth as she was gaping in surprise.
"You're pregnant! For how long? When?! How did it happen?! I'm going to be an aunt!" She rushed all her words that Abigail only heard few.
"I'm only two months gone, I already told him and he will be back for Christmas" Abigail said as Sandra looked like she had seen a ghost.
" You mean your very mysterious boyfriend who I've never seen for the six months you have been dating?" Sandra asked in disbelief.
"Yes, and he won't be mysterious when he comes in December, we will get married when he returns so stop giving me that look" Abigail said laughing at Sandra's expression.
"Abby! Marriage? December is only four months away, how much have I missed, when did you find out you were pregnant? If I didn't ask, you won't tell me he is coming and you are getting married too" Sandra asked jokingly.
They both laughed as they discussed the baby and the wedding preparations, Sandra was happy and she let other thoughts out of her as she discussed with her very excited friend.
The four months to Christmas was well spent, Sandra and Abigail went on occasional shopping spree to get clothes for the baby which they had found out on one of their check-up routines was a baby boy. Although Sandra kept herself busy with Abigail and her job, she didn't let Dare off the hook. She took it upon herself to investigate his affairs and found out he had affairs with numerous women. She was bitter and she felt cheated. If he could keep up with his affairs when she was home with him, them he had no respect for her. She was wrong, some men aren't scum, all men are scum. They would never change no matter what happened.
Sandra did not involve anyone in her plan as she didn't what anyone to tell her it was a man's nature to cheat or she should be patient and bare children so he can't leave her and any other rubbish she has heard countless if times. She was going to hit dare where it hurts the most.
The week before Christmas, she filed for divorce with all the evidence she has. She wanted a very quiet separation bit if Dare wanted the opposite, she could give it. She still hasn't told her mother or Abigail about it, she wanted to finalize everything before involving anyone. She loved him and her threw it right in her face, now it was her turn to be wicked. Abigail's fiance had cancelled his visit and promised to return in January, she was worried about her. If the man had abandoned her pregnant friend, it would be a disaster. She was still handling her own heartbreak, she wouldn't be able to handle Abigail. She prayed and hoped that wasn't the case as she prepared for the holiday celebration.
