Marinette was always that one person who can't have a day without tea. She had taken this trait from her British mother.

She was drinking tea as usual when she heard a crash and a soft thud on the sofa. She almost choked on her tea but gulped it down and wheeled around.

'Hello!' Scarlet said, sheepishly.

'You could have used the door-' Marinette said.

'And let the neighbors and Chief find out? No way.' Scarlett said.

'Ok.' Marinette said.

She went closer and saw that Scarlett was hiding something.

'Scar, what are you hiding?' Marinette asked.

'Won't tell you.' Scarlett said.

'Oh, ok.' Marinette said, a little disheartened.

'Come with me, Mari.' Scarlett said, putting her hand out to her. Marinette took it and Scarlett led her to her balcony which was lighted with twinkling lights.

'Scar...?' Marinette said, she turned to Scarlett who brought out a small red box. The latter knelt and then raised the box, opening it to reveal a golden ring.

Marinette turned to Scarlett with eyes showing disbelief.

'Will you, Marinette Anderson, be my girlfriend?' Scarlett said. Deep within, she was scared of the rejection. Well, that was until...

'Yes!' Marinette exclaimed.

Scarlett got up and slipped the pretty ring on her finger.

'I will always be there for you, that's a promise.' Scarlett said.

'Promise me you won't hurt yourself.' Marinette said.

'I will.' Scarlett said.

Marinette kissed her on the cheek as a reward and this time it was easy for Scarlett to turn it into making out.

She didn't turn it into that. She kissed Marinette, who kissed her back.

'So, how are you?' Scarlett asked, 'Luka did not throw you into a river again, did he?'

'No. I'm fine.' Marinette said.

'Well, I was wondering. Will you go on a date with me tomorrow?' Scarlett asked.

Marinette looked at her with a happy glint in her eyes.

'The fair?' she asked.

'It's a surprise!' Scarlett said.

'Ok!' Marinette said.

~~~
'And then they lived happily ever after.' Sophy said, gleefully. Scarlett threw a pillow at her face.
'What was that for, Chu?!' Sophy shouted.
'Stop talking about her and me.' Scarlett said sheepishly.
'But she's correct!' Jack said.
'Not you too, J!' Scarlett said, whining.
'So, she proposed to her right there on the balcony?!' Peter said.
'What did I do to deserve this?' Scarlett groaned.
'A lot of things.' Jack said, grinning.
'I mean like yeah, that's hella romantic. When is the wedding? And why am I not invited.' Peter asked.
'When we both say so, a.k.a. when we have stopped VILE.' Scarlett said.
'And why not now?' Jack asked.
'It will be too dangerous. What if VILE finds it out and then, what would happen?' Scarlett said.
'That's a good point, actually' Sophy said.
'VILE and ACME will do anything to get you. They could even use Marinette as a vessel for information.' Scarlett said, then she put her head in her hands and exhaled, 'They're just using her. She doesn't know but I can see through their façade. They used my mum in that way too. Once they deem her useless, they will try ways to kill her. But in VILE, she will be used as a lab rat. She's too sensitive for Bellum's tests. She could even DIE due to that and I don't want her to.'
'Why don't you tell her...or have you slipped the ring onto her finger?' Jack asked.
'I have done the latter. I'll talk to her.' Scarlett said, getting up and going to the balcony.
As soon as she was out of sight, she took out her phone and called Marinette.
It was only two rings, when she finally picked up.
'Hello?'
'Mari?'
'Scar, how's it going?'
'You sound tired, were you-'
'No, I was about to. But I have time for you any day.'
Scarlett chuckled.
'Marinette, I just want to say I want to talk to you about something.'
'Sure, any time.'
'Marinette, we have to go incognito. I am scared that you may-'
'I know, Scar.'
'It's dangerous. If ACME finds out, they'll use you as a vessel for me. But if VILE finds out...Marinette, remember that ring?'
Marinette looked down at the golden ring on her finger and said, 'Yes.'
'What are you going to do with it?'
'I'm going to tell Chief and anyone else that it is just a ring that I was gifted on my birthday.'
Scarlett sighed with relief and then she said, 'Marinette, go to sleep.'
'I will. Good night.'
'Night.'
She hung up.
Scarlett looked down at the ring in her hand, it was the exact version of the ring Marinette had, the only different was that this was silver and that was gold.
She whispered, 'I will always be there for you.'
