Part 9: At Dinner

Marinette was picking at her food during dinner and Orion noticed that.

'Mari, is something wrong?' Orion asked.

She and her brothers had this annual occasion where they would meet up at Marinette's house for dinner to catch up with their lives.

'I have an announcement.' Marinette said.

 She got up and showed her hand and it had a new ring, but this time, it was an engagement ring, finished off with a pearl and a diamond.

'I'm engaged to Scarlett Sandiego!' She said, smiling one of her widest smiles.

Connor dropped his spoon in his soup and Orion's jaw dropped. Conan said, 'Congrats, Bitsy.' 

And he meant that. But Connor felt a little sad.

'If only Cole was here with us.'

Marinette sighed sadly and said, 'He is watching all of us from the sky. He probably is jumping around right now.'

Orion smiled and said, 'Good for you, Mari.'

Connor too smiled at her and then he shouted, 'Am I not invited to the wedding?'

'We haven't decided yet.' Marinette said.

They went back to eating dinner.

She heard a knock on the window and saw Scarlett and smiled.

'Scarlett, for once use the door.' Marinette said, opening the window. She really was worrying over the day Scarlett might get stuck in the window.

'I would but just surprising you is amazing.' Scarlett admitted.

Suddenly, Marinette started to feel...well, weird. She felt sick to her stomach.

'Scar...' She mumbled out.

'Marinette, is everything-?' Scarlett saw how Marinette turned pale and she was worried. 

'MARI-!' Scarlett immediately caught her before Marinette could hit the floor. She carried her bridal style to the bedroom and laid her down. 

After some time, Marinette woke up and looked at Scarlett, who immediately asked, 'How are you?'

'Can we do a pregnancy test?' Marinette asked feebly. She was so pale and sickly.

Scarlett thought about it for a while and then she said, 'I'll bring it.'

She got up and ran for the store.
