Chapter 13: Confessions

Pa observed the guy in front of her carefully, trying to understand what he could be thinking without asking him to directly, she didn't want to force him anymore since it was clear that Pran already had a lot of problem just to admit what he said before.

The guy was sitting in a tense position, his proud posture was long gone, his legs were tight against each other, his hands together like he was praying and his eyes looking down, as if he feared to see some form of judgment in Pa's expression.

"Pran... do you want to tell me what happened in England? Why did you say that you fought anyway?" Pa asked curious.

"Pa... please... believe me... I would like to tell you all the truth... but... but I don't know how much your brother told you about his time at the college and... and I fear that I might cause even more troubles to him... I don't want to hurt him... if you trust me then..." Pran said but he stopped when the door suddenly opened, Pat, who looked like he was already back to health, glared at him.

"Pat?"

"Yeah, why don't you tell us why you suddenly started acting like a total asshole out of the blue when we were in England?" Pat said irritated.

"You... you heard..."

"Yes, I heard everything... so I guess that this is time to clear this out and move on, don't you think so?" Pat added.

"Fine... During our first year there... noticing how nice and kind you were with me... I realized that... that I... I liked you... it was fine at first... I knew that there was no way we could date... you just kept going out with girls..." Pran explained

"And that's why you suddenly became cold and arrogant to me? Even after all the time I spent with you ignoring what my family said?" Pat interrupted.

"No... I swear that it isn't the reason... I was happy because I could see you happy... that was enough for me... but when I discovered that you were... dating a guy in the last year... I couldn't take it anymore... I thought that you realized that I liked you... so when I saw you with him... I felt like you stabbed me in the back..." Pran finished.

"That's it? Let me guess... you even reported me to the director right? That would explain the letter my family received... you filthy b.." Pat hissed.

"What? The director? I've never done anything like that! You must believe me Pat! How could I do something so childish..." Pran replied

"If you truly loved me then why didn't you tell me when you noticed that I was going out with another man?" Pat asked.

"How could I? I already ruined our friendship... I didn't want to ruin your love life too..." Pran answered and started crying.
