"Ink, you should absolutely try this, porridge, it tastes divine" Pa said, she tried to give it to Ink but she accidentally dropped it on the floor. All the people at the table chuckled for a moment, then Pat turned to a waiter and raised his hand.
"We are really sorry for what happened" Pat said as the waiter arrived. The young man turned to him and shook his head: "You really don't have to worry sir, it is pretty difficult to get used to the sudden jolts of the train for passengers"
Pat really appreciated the polite attitude of the waiter, the train ride had been incredibly smooth and the clumsiness of his sister was the only thing to blame.
Pa was still feeling guilty for what had just happened. Ink noticed it immediately, she didn't want to see her feeling like that, so she turned to her and took her hand. She smiled at her and whispered: "Don't worry, you have heard him, it happens all the time..."
It wasn't anything exactly special or with a deep meaning, but Pa felt like a heavy burden was relieved from her chest.
Pran smiled at the scene, he then pretended to ignore Pat and the other people at his table and turned back to Wai. He sipped his glass of wine and sighed watching his assistant.
"Do you really have to be so depressing Wai? Next time I will go on my own if I really have to watch at your grumpy face" Pran said.
"You already know... I have told you before lunch" Wai replied irritated and looked outside.
Pran took another piece of meat and after he swallowed it he sighed heavily.
"You know perfectly that I do not like when you use that tone with me. And just so you know, don't try to hide things from me... I heard you fighting with Korn... you probably forgot that the second class wagon is just next to the restaurant car..." Pran remarked.
"Are you lecturing me?" Wai asked with a smirk on his face.
"Listen... this voyage will be quite long and I really don't want to spend the nights fearing a fight on board! Is it clear? You know that I consider you a friend... so please, do you think that you can do this favor to me?" Pran replied.
Wai sighed and nodded, knowing that he was right... as usual.
After a while both Pran and Wai stood up. They were walking through the car to go back to their cabins but Wai suddenly heard Korn chuckling. He was about to turn and punch him but Pran immediately pushed him before he could do anything.
"You should go to your cabin, I have to do something..." Pran said. Wai nodded and left.
"How may I help you sir?" the waiter behind the counter asked as he saw that Pran stopped in front of him.
"Umm... Is it possible to leave a bottle of champagne in the cabin of that passenger over there... it should be the cabin... A3..." Pran said pointing nonchalantly Pat.
"Of course sir, do you want me to tell him your name too or you prefer to stay anonymous?" the waiter asked.
"Anonymous, don't tell him anything, I just want him to find the bottle in a bucket of ice in his cabin. You can add it to my bill... cabin A2" Pran explained.
"As you wish sir" the waiter replied and went to the kitchen to get the bottle.
Pat noticed the conversation between Pran and the waiter but he couldn't hear a single word. He was still wondering where his cabin could be. He turned to Korn and smirked.
"Is there something wrong with your face Pat?" Korn asked as he saw that smirk.
"I have a plan" Pat replied
"Since when you make plans?" Korn replied as he drank the last drop of white wine from his glass.
"How dare you! Anyway... try to discover where Pran's cabin is, I want to get as much information as possible before arriving in Saint Petersburg" Pat replied.
"Oh come on... don't be so tedious... it is just the first day... you will have plenty of time to discover whatever you want... but fine... I'll do my best... are you happy now? Hey, why don't we ask for some vodka?" Korn proposed.
"My God Korn... why are you even asking, I accept, obviously!"
