Chapter 19: Future

"What do you think that we should continue when we will go back home. I am quite sure that it will not end well if we just go to our families and tell them that we are together, especially if you consider that they already hate each other" Pat started, he chuckled a bit and played with Pran's hair while looking at the snowy landscape.

"You are right... I will be sincere, I really don't know what to do. It isn't just like trying to overcome our families' prejudice... it is the whole world that will be against us... surely if we both get married to someone there would be less suspects but who would accept to marry someone who clearly doesn't love them?" Pran responded.

"That's right... maybe we should just ignore the future and think about what we can do now, we must enjoy the brief time we can still spend together, don't you agree with me?" Pat added. Pran nodded and kissed his forehead.

That night Pat preferred to spend the night in his own cabin rather than with Pran, he noticed that some passengers were looking at him in a different way lately and he didn't want to raise any suspect, not because he feared them, he managed to get used to that kind of thing during college, but he feared that his lover couldn't handle it.

Pat was snoring, while his poor sister Pa couldn't get asleep at all. She just kept thinking about how her relationship with Ink could work, what if it was just a crush? What if the actual love of her life was out there wait for her?

"Pat. Hey Pat. Pat. Are you asleep?"

"If I tell you that I am sleeping will you leave me alone?" Pat said with a sleepy voice.

"Listen, do you really like Pran?"

"yes... but can we postpone this conversation? I would like to sleep now..."Pat responded.

"I cannot sleep"

"I can, so let me sleep" Pat added.

"Oh come on, be an helpful brother"

"Good... I cannot sleep anymore. What the hell do you want now... what is keeping you awake?" Pat said and sighed annoyed.

"Do you love him?" Pa asked.

"Yes, I've already told you"

"And is he the love of your life? Your soulmate?" Pa asked again.

"What the... well, I hope so"

"You hope so? You mean that you don't know?" Pa asked confused.

"Well you know, you can't really tell if you will love that person for the rest of your life. Especially at the very beginning of your relationship. There are some aspects though..."

"Oh, like what?"

"Well, for example if you like that person because you think that they are attractive then you will probably get bored after a while. Physical beauty goes away after a while. If you like them because they make you feel comfortable, loved... you feel safe between their arms... you like the unique way they talk to you... then It may mean that you found your soulmate..." Pat explained.

"And do you feel like that when you're with Pran?"

"I don't know how I feel when I'm with him. Just seeing him makes me feel so many emotions that my mind cannot describe them. But why are you asking all this?" Pat asked curious.

"Well, nothing. Good night brother" Pa said. Pat sighed confused and went back to sleep.
